External Scholarships

Throughout the year, the Office of Admissions receives notices of scholarships that are offered through external organizations. Information about the scholarship awards that are currently available is listed below.  Award notices are listed in the order in which they were received.

NEW! The Grand Rapids Community Foundation Scholarship Award

Application Deadline: April 1, 2015

The Grand Rapids Community Foundation administers two seperate scholarship programs funded by two local law firms aimed at increasing diversity in all areas of the legal professsion. Interested students can learn more and apply online at: http://www.grfoundation.org/scholarships

The Illinois Judicial Council Foundation Scholarship Award

Application Deadline: March 2, 2015

The Illinois Judicial Council Foundation is pleased to extend an invitation to Illinois 2nd and 3rd year law students to apply for its 2015-2016 scholarship. Eligible applicants are required to submit a family financial statement, two letters of recommendation, and an official copy of law school transcripts. The HotelsCheap Scholarship Award

Application Deadline: April 15, 2015

General Scholarship for Higher Learning: Spring 2015. Students enrolled in a two year, four year, or a graduate program are eligible to apply. The General Scholarship is awarded each fall and spring semester. Interested students can apply online at http://www.hotelscheap.org/scholarship

The AABA Law Foundation Scholarship Award

Application Deadline: May 1, 2015

The Asian American Bar Association of the Greater Chicago Area awards scholarships to law students who have demonstrated a commitment to serving the needs of the Asian Pacific American community, and who will continue to serve the needs of the Asian Pacific American community through pro bono, public interest, and/or public service legal work. A connection to the Chicago area is preferred. This year, the AABA Law Foundation intends to award one scholarship of $5,000 to a law student who has exemplified that commitment. The Stewart J. Guss Scholarship Award

Application Deadline: March 1, 2015

Attorney Stewart Guss appreciates the value of education as well as the ever increasing costs of obtaining one. This yearly scholarship of $1000 is designed to alleviate some of the financial pressure on present and future students with the desire and potential to succeed. The Babcock Partners Law Student Scholarship Award

Application Deadline: March 31, 2015

The Babcock Partners Law Student Scholarship is part of Babcock Partners commitment to helping those who demonstrate high academic achievement, exceptional leadership qualities and involvement with community service defray the costs of obtaining their legal education. The Finney Law Office Future Leaders Scholarship Award

Application Deadline: February 28, 2015

At Finney Law Office, the law is a tradition in our family. Our firm started with Daniel Finney Jr., whose two sons Daniel Finney III and Chris Finney eventually joined him. All of our firmís attorneys attended school in St. Louis. Today, our firmís attorneys are proud to help injured victims and their families navigate the personal injury process.

We want to share our passion and enthusiasm for what we do with a new generation, so we are offering one $1,000 scholarship to help a student interested in the legal field (or a related field) further his or her dreams. The ABA Legal Opportunity Scholarship Award

Application Deadline: March 2, 2015

The ABA Legal Opportunity Scholarship grants 20 incoming diverse law students with $15,000 of financial assistance over the course of their three years in law school. During his term as ABA President, William G. Paul initiated the scholarship to encourage racially and ethnically diverse students to apply to and attend law school. The NerdWallet Law Scholarships

If you have been awarded a Chicago-Kent scholarship for the 2014-15 academic year, please refer to the Scholarship Policies from the current Student Handbook for important information concerning your award.  Please direct any questions about your scholarship to the Office of Admissions, Suite 230.
