Throughout the year, the Office of Admissions receives notices of scholarships that are offered through external organizations. Information about the scholarship awards that are currently available is listed below. Award notices are listed in the order in which they were received.

NEW! Illinois Bar Foundation Scholarship
Application Deadline: October 1, 2005
The Illinois Bar Foundation will award one scholarship in the amount of $2,000 to a second- or third-year Chicago-Kent student this year. The Board is seeking to award the scholarship to a student who has demonstrated an accomplished academic record, involvement in diverse curricular, extracurricular and community activities, and has financial need. Membership in the Illinois State Bar Association is encouraged but not required. Applications are available in the Office of Admissions, Suite 230 or online at www.isba.org/ibf.
NEW! South Suburban Bar Association Scholarship
Application Deadline: October 1, 2005
The South Suburban Bar Association Scholarship Committee will award a $2,000 scholarship to a deserving law student of an accredited local law school. Applicants must be a resident of the South Suburbs of Cook County and must have a present interest to practice law in the South Suburbs upon graduation. Financial need will be considered by the Scholarship Committee, and applicants can be expected to document his or her financial need when requested to do so by the Scholarship Committee. Students interested in being considered for the scholarship award must submit a brief resume for review by the South Suburban Bar Association Committee, as well as a cover letter (200 word maximum) indicating why they want to practice on the Southside. The Committee may conduct interviews of applicants or, alternatively, may in its discretion, recommend a candidate to the Board of the South Suburban Bar Association based upon a review of the resumes submitted. In order to receive the Scholarship Award, the student must attend the South Suburban Bar Association's Installation Dinner Dance on December 16, 2005. Any interested student may forward his or her resume and cover letter (200 words) demonstrating connection/desire to practice on the Southside directly to Roger S. Hutchison, Attorney at Law, 47 West Polk Street, Suite M-2, Chicago, Illinois 60605. Personal contacts concerning the scholarship is discouraged, unless the the contact solely relates to the requirements set forth. NEW! Judge Hellen C. Kinney Scholarship
Application Deadline: October 31, 2005
To honor the memory, vision and leadership of Judge Helen C. Kinney, the DuPage Association of Women Lawyers has established a not-for-profit foundation to award the Judge Helen C. Kinney Scholarship. All second and third-year women law students with a DuPage County connection and who are enrolled in an accredited law school in Illinois are eligible for this scholarship. The Foundation anticipates awarding two scholarships of $1,000 (or more) to deserving women law students. Applications are available in the Office of Admissions (Suite 230) or online at dupagewomenlawyers.org.
NEW! Hellenic Bar Foundation
Application Deadline: October 7, 2005
Each year, the Hellenic Bar Foundation awards several scholarships to law students of Greek descent based on merit, financial need, involvement in extracurricular activites and involvement in the Greek community. We encourage all 2nd and 3rd year law students of Greek descent to apply for the scholarship. Applications are available in the Office of Admissions, Suite 230.
NEW! Puerto Rican Bar Association Scholarship
Application Deadline: Extended to October 23, 2005
The Puerto Rican Bar Association of Illinois has a scholarship opportunity to qualified current law students of Puerto Rican ancestry. Interested applicants should mail or email their completed application to:www.prbalaw.com.
