Throughout the year, the Office of Admissions receives
notices of scholarships that are offered through external
organizations. Information about the scholarship awards
that are currently available is listed below. Award
notices are listed in the order in which they were received.
You may also find information on other outside scholarship
awards on the Internet. The following sites are useful
for finding scholarship and financial aid information:
DEADLINE EXTENDED!! Illinois Judicial Council Foundation Scholarships
NEW! Application Deadline: July 1 , 2007
The Illinois Judicial Council Foundation announces its 2007 Law School Scholarships. To be eligible for consideration, an applicant must meet all of the following criteria: be enrolled full-time in an accredited law school, rank in good standing, submit an official transcript, submit a financial statement, submit a completed scholarship application, submit two letters of recommendation, submit a personal statement and resume, and plan to be available to the scholarship commitee if selected. Applications are available in the Office of Admissions, Suite 230.
The Darleen J. and Robert L. Walker Scholarship
Application Deadline: June 30 , 2007
The Darleen J. and Robert L. Walker Scholarship Fund is accepting applications for the upcoming academic year. Information and instructions for applying may be obtained online at www.walkerscholarship.org. Under the terms of the scholarship, preference will be given to a son or daughter of a member of Masonic Lodge 1098 in Lomard, Illinois, or to former residents of the Masonic Children's Home in La Grange, Illinois, and those who come from Masonic families. Scholarships may be renewed upon verification of continued financial need and continued good standing in law school. Polish Women's Civic Club, Inc. Scholarships
Application Deadline: July 1 , 2007
The Polish Women's Civic Club, Inc. is a philanthropic organization of American women of Polish descent interested in discovering the richness of their Polish heritage and sharing it with others. The Club supports educational activities and personal efforts of Polish American students, male and female, through financial scholarships. To qualify for consideration of a scholarship, a student must fulfill the following requirements: be a U.S. citizen; have at least one parent of Polish heritage; be a Chicago resident; currently enrolled full-time second or third year student attending Chicago area school; demonstrate financial need; and permanent resident of State of Illinois. Interesed students who meet the above criteria may obtain an application in the Office of Admissions, Suite 230.
Peoria County Bar Association Diversity Scholarship
Application Deadline: August 6 , 2007
The Peoria County Bar Association (PCBA) is proud to announce its 2007-08 Diversity Scholarship. The PCBA will award $1,500 of financial assistance annually to each scholarship recipient. The Diversity Committee of the PCBA will select the recipients. To apply, applicants must meet the following eligibility requirements: must be a first, second or third year law student in 2007-08; must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident; must be attending an ABA-accredited law school. In addition to the submision of the application and personal statement, the PCBA Diversity Commitee may ask for a telephone interview. the 2006-07 academic year, please refer to the Scholarship
