organizations. Information about the scholarship awards
that are currently available is listed below. Award
notices are listed in the order in which they were received.

NEW! 2010-2011 MALDEF Law School Scholarship Program
Application Deadline: September 30, 2010
Since MALDEF's founding, it has been an organizational hallmark to support the next generation of lawyers who will advance the civil rights of the Latino community. MALDEF's Law School Scholarship Program awards scholarships of varying amounts to several students each year based on their commitment to serve the Latino community through law; their past achievement and potential for achievement; and their financial need. MALDEF's 2010-2011 Law School Scholarship Application is available at www.maldef.org. The deadline to apply is September 30, 2010.
NEW! The Donald Banner Diversity Scholarship
Application Deadline: November 1, 2010
The Donald Banner Diversity Scholarship is open to all students currently enrolled in an American Bar Association accredited law school and pursuing a career in intellectual property law. The applicant must be a member of a historically under represented group (including race, sex, ethnicity, sexual orientation, and disability) and must have exemplary writing and oral communication skills. NEW! Alumni Board Scholarship
Application Deadline: October 1, 2010
The Chicago-Kent Alumni Board of Directors Scholarship is awarded to law students demonstrating academic merit and financial need. Applications for the 2010-2011 scholarships, which can be found through the link below, are due on Friday, October 1, 2010.

NEW! The Puerto Rican Bar Association of Illinois Scholarship

The Puerto Rican Bar Association of Illinois has a scholarship opportunity for qualified current law students. The †Hellenic Bar Association Scholarship

The Hellenic Bar Association of Illinois announces a scholarship available for second and third year law students of Greek descent.† The scholarship application is available online at www.hellenicbar.org. † All scholarship applications are due on Friday, October 8, 2010.
The †Serbian Bar Association of America Scholarship Program
Application Deadline: September 13, 2010
The Serbian Bar Association of America offers four scholarships to eligible law students currently enrolled in an accredited U.S. law school. These scholarships are awarded at the annual Scholarship Gala, which will be held on October 9, 2010 in Chicago. The McLean County Bar Association Scholarship
Application Deadline: October 15, 2010
The McLean County Bar Association (MCBA) is announcing a $1,000 scholarship for eligible second or third year law school students with strong ties to McLean County, Illinois.
To be considered, scholarship applications should be received electronically by October 15, 2010, and the recipient will be selected on or before November 15, 2010.†† A formal presentation will be made December 21, 2010 at noon at the Bar Associationís annual holiday luncheon at Central Station in Bloomington, Illinois.† Additional information regarding the McLean County Bar Association may be found at www.mcleancountybarassociation.com.
Applicants for the MCBA law school scholarship should demonstrate a commitment to McLean County, Bloomington-Normal and/or its surrounding communities through residency in the county, through academic ties to local schools or through past or future employment.† Prime candidates will express and demonstrate a commitment to legal aid work, pro bono activities and/or community service.† Applications should be emailed to email@example.com.
