External Scholarships

Throughout the year, the Office of Admissions receives notices of scholarships that are offered through external organizations. Information about the scholarship awards that are currently available is listed below.  Award notices are listed in the order in which they were received.

NEW! Serbian Bar Association of America Law Scholarship

Application deadline: October 15, 2012

The SBAA is an organization of Serbian American attorneys, judges, paralegals and law students that has been in existence for nearly twenty years. The SBAA represents a valuable asset to Serbian American law students by offering them the opportunity to network with the greater Serbian American legal community and affording them career placement opportunities.

The SBAA is hosting a scholarship gala on Saturday, November 17, 2012, at the Park Ridge Country Club in Park Ridge, Illinois. Five scholarships will be awarded; one in the amount of $2,500, two in the amount of $2,000, one in the amount of $1,000 and one in the amount of $500. 

All persons of Serbian birth, ancestry, or connubial relationship who are enrolled in an accredited law school in any state of the United States of America are eligible to apply for the scholarships. The deadline for receipt of applications is October 15, 2012.
Scholarship recipients will be notified in advance, and the scholarships will be awarded at the scholarship gala on November 17, 2012.  Applications are available online at:

The American Association for Justice Scholarship Program

The American Association for Justice (AAJ) is proud to announce its 2012 Law Student Scholarship cycle has begun. AAJ offers more than $20,000 in annual scholarship funds, as well as programs for law students to enhance their legal education by attending AAJ’s 2012 Annual Convention in Chicago, IL. The Robinson Family Companies Tech Law Scholarship Program

Techlaw LLP is a boutique intellectual property law firm, handling trademarks, copyrights and patents. This scholarship is offered to the student who writes the best short essay on intellectual property law per the guidelines set forth on This scholarship requires an application form submitted through email.  See the website for details.
