We're a Chicago personal injury firm that has seen the impact of accidents and injuries on people's finances and futures. For this reason, we are offering a $2,000 scholarship each year to any U.S. citizen or permanent resident who has been hurt in an accident or personally affected by an accident. The SEO Scholarship Award

Application Deadline: September 5, 2014

SEO (also known as search engine optimization) is about getting your articles to rank on the top of organic (non-paid) search results when a person does a search on Google or Bing. To participate in this contest you will need to write an original blog post on a small business topic, and get it to organically rank for the following phrase: “coffee shop marketing ideas”. The 2014 Bond & Botes Financial Hardship Scholarship Award

Application Deadline: July 16, 2014

As a law firm providing financial solutions for clients across three states, all of the
lawyers at the affiliated Bond and Botes law offices see the real and lasting consequences when people take on too much debt. It is especially difficult when young adults get trapped and cannot recover educational expenses because of a tight job market. With this in mind, the lawyers at Bond and Botes have established a scholarship for first-year law students. Our intent is to help students who have already been accepted to law school and are now facing the financial realities of getting a law degree.

The $2,000 Financial Hardship Scholarship is open to any U.S. citizen attending the first year of law school this fall, with an undergraduate cumulative GPA at or above 3.0. Applicants are asked to submit a short essay describing how they have overcome financial difficulties in their lives. The Clark Law Office Scholarship Award (for incoming 2014 students)

 Application deadline: July 15, 2014

The Clark Law Office Scholarship will provide a $1000 scholarship to a current undergrad student who is planning on attending law school in 2014. Applicants must submit an essay to the folloiwng question:  What are your current hopes for your career after completing law school? Essays should be 600-1200 words in length. 

Application requirements

  • Applicants must be a US citizen or a permanent resident
  • Applicants must be a current undergraduate student attending an accredited university in the United States
  • Applicants must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher

  • A completed online application and online submission of essay

The 2014 d'Oliveira & Associates Scholarship Award

We are a Personal Injury Law Firm with offices located in Rhode Island and South Eastern Massachusetts.  We have set up a $1,000 scholarship (per year) for students pursuing careers in the following legal professions: law school degree, paralegal studies, legal assistant studies, court reporting and other law related fields. Chicago Bar Foundation Abraham Lincoln Marovitz Public Interest Law Scholarship (for incoming first years)

Application Deadline: May 19, 2014

The Chicago Bar Foundation (CBF) is now accepting applications for its 2014 Abraham Lincoln Marovitz Public Interest Law Scholarship.  The CBF’s Marovitz Scholarship is intended to support a needy law student who is deeply committed to public interest work so that financial need will not prevent the student from pursuing a legal aid or public interest law career upon graduation.

The CBF awards the Marovitz Scholarship annually to one incoming first-year student attending one of the nine Illinois law schools.  These funds, payable over a three-year period, will enable an incoming student who intends to pursue a career in public interest law to have a significant portion of his or her tuition and related expenses covered by scholarship funding.  Contingent upon the recipient’s continued compliance with the terms of the Scholarship, the student will receive a total of $40,000 in scholarship funds disbursed as follows: $10,000 in the first year of law school, $15,000 in the second year, and $15,000 in the third year.

The Albert Pick, Jr. Fund Scholarship (for incoming first years)

Application Deadline: June 1, 2014

The Albert Pick, Jr. Fund Law Student Scholarship Program announces its 2014 application cycle has begun.

Applicants to the Albert Pick, Jr. Fund Law Student Scholarship Program must-

  • Be long-term residents of Chicago (at least 2 years), and
  • Plan to enroll as a first year full-time law student for the entire 2014-15 academic year at one of the following schools: Chicago-Kent, DePaul, John Marshall or Loyola Chicago

The Baker Donelson Diversity Scholarship

Baker Donelson is committed to fostering an inclusive environment where the individual differences among us are understood, respected, appreciated, and recognized as sources of strength of the Firm. These qualities enrich the environment in which we work. With this in mind, Baker Donelson will again award three scholarships to diverse law students who will complete their first year of law school by June 2014. The DuPage Association of Women Lawyers Judge Helen Kinney Award

The Board of Directors for the DuPage Association of Women Lawyers and the Chair of the Scholarship Committee announce their annual Judge Helen C. Kinney Scholarship. The scholarship is open to all first, second and third year women law students with a connection to DuPage County. The American Association for Justice Scholarship Programs

Kane County Bar Foundation Scholarship

Through the generosity of Kane County Bar Association members, the Foundation has been able to award at least two scholarships of $1,500 each year. Qualified applicants are Kane County residents (or whose parents reside in Kane County) who are currently attending law school. Boone County Bar Association 2014 Scholarship

Application Deadline: March 15, 2014

The Boone County Bar Association awards a $1,000 scholarship each school year to a student that is accepted or currently attending an American Bar Association accredited law school. The applicant must either be a current Boone County resident or a resident of Boone County at the time of his or her high school graduation. The application deadline is March 15, 2014. Applications are available in the Office of Admissions, Suite 230.

 

Bohemian Lawyers' Association of Chicago Scholarship

Application Deadline: March 31, 2014

The Bohemian Lawyers' Association of Chicago (BLAC) has several scholarships each in the amount of $2,000 available to students attending law school in the greater Chicagoland area. These scholarships are open to students of Czech, Moravian, Ruthenian, Silesian or Slovak ancestry. Applications must be submitted by March 31, 2014. All students interested in applying must submit a completed scholarship application form, resume, transcript, and essay (limit 500 words). Applications are online at www.bohemianlawyers.org.

 

Central Illinois Women's Bar Association Scholarship

Application Deadline: March 24, 2014

The Central Illinois Women's Bar Association is currently accpeting applications for its $2,000 non-renewable scholarship to be awarded in 2014. The scholarship is jointly funded by the Central Illinois Women's Bar Association and the Sangamon County Bar Association. It is open to female college students or college graduates intending to go to law school and women currently attending an accredited law school. In addition, each applicant must have been a resident of one of the following central Illinois counties at the time she graduated from high school: Adams, Brown, Calhoun, Cass, Champaign, Christian, Clark Coles, Cumberland, DeWitt, Douglas, Edgar, Ford, Greene, Jersey, Livingston, Logan, Macon, McClean, Menard, Montgomery, Morgan, Moultrie, Piatt, Pike, Sangamon, Schuyler, Scott, Vermilion, or Woodford. Essex County Bar Association Scholarship

Application Deadline: May 9 , 2014

The Essex County Bar Association (ECBA) and its Committee on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, in conjunction with the Honorable Vincent J. Biunno Memorial Fund is pleased to announce the continuation of the Biunno Scholarship Program for the 2014-2015 school year. The scholarships are designed to offer financial assistance to persons with disabilities who are currently attending law school. For purposes of this scholarship, a disability is limited to a permanent physical or mental impairment that substantially limits one or more of the major life activities of the individual having such an impairment. Persons wishing to apply for the scholarship should know that apart from the requirement that they demonstrate a permanent disability consistent with the criterion outlined above, a variety of other factors, including financial need, law school achievement and commitment to the practice of law will enter into the decision making process. DuPage County Chapter of the Justinian Society of Lawyers Scholarship

Application Deadline: May 16, 2014

The DuPage County Chapter of the Justinian Society of Lawyers will once again award a scholarship to students of Italian extraction who have completed at least one semester of law school and are currently enrolled in law school. Scholarships range from $1,000 to $3,000. The committee must receive applications and letters of recommendation from law school faculty no later than May 16, 2014 for full consideration. The Brett Murphy Law Firm - Future Leaders Scholarship

Application Deadline: July 15, 2014

The Brett Murphy Law Firm is offering an annual $2000 scholarship, called The Future Leaders Scholarship 2014, for law students who are working towards a Juris Doctorate Degree and who have an interest in personal injury law.

ItaliaRail strongly believes that world experience is a vital component to a complete education. We are continuing to encourage students studying abroad in Italy to apply for this prestigious award. Once again, two recipients will be chosen and each will receive $1,000 to be used for expenses related to their academic experience in Italy.

The Women Trial Lawyers Caucus of the American Association for Justice (AAJ), Mike Eidson Scholarship

Application Deadline: May 1, 2014

The Mike Eidson Scholarship Fund was established by the AAJ Women’ Trial Lawyers Caucus in 2008, in honor of AAJ Past President Mike Eidson, whose vision and generosity inspired it. The Scholarship, traditionally given in the amount of $5,000, is awarded annually to a rising 3L (or rising 4L in a night program) female student who has demonstrated a commitment to a career as a trial lawyer, along with dedication to upholding and defending the principles of the Constitution, and to the concept of a fair trial, the adversary system, and a just result for the injured, the accused, and those whose rights are jeopardized.

The application deadline is May 1, 2014 and the Scholarship will be awarded at the AAJ Annual Convention, which will take place this year in July in Baltimore. For additional information, please see the AAJ Scholarship Application.

 

The Elkus, Sisson & Rosenstein, P.C. Academic Scholarship

Application Deadline: July 1, 2014

The law firm of Elkus, Sisson & Rosenstein, P.C. (a Colorado based law firm) has created a scholarship for students that are considering making law enforcement their career choice, or that have a family member that is or was a law enforcement official one point. The scholarship is designed to help these students further their undergraduate and graduate education.

The Darleen J. and Robert L. Walker Scholarship Fund

Application Deadline: June 20 , 2014

The Darleen J. and Robert L. Walker Scholarship Fund is accepting applications for the 2014-2015 academic year. Interested applicants must submit an online application and supply their Student Aid Report or FAFSA documentation. The Walker Scholarship Fund was established to provide assistance to law students in Illinois, Milwaukee, and St. Louis. Any student enrolled at Chicago-Kent College of Law for all or part of the 2014-2015 academic year is eligible and welcome to apply on the Walker website: www.walkerscholarship.org.

While scholarships are open to any current or incoming student, preference is given to sons and daughters of members of Masonic Lodge 1098 in Lombard, Illinois, and to former residents of the Masonic Children's Home in La Grange, Illinois. Relatives of members of other Masonic Lodges in Illinois and elsewhere will also receive strong consideration. The deadline to apply is June 20, 2014.

 

Northwest Suburban Bar Association, Timothy Evans Scholarship

Application Deadline: March 28, 2014

The Northwest Suburban Bar Association Foundation is pleased to announce that they are accepting applications for the "Honorable Timothy C. Evans Scholarship". The scholarship was established to honor the commitment and dedication that Chief Judge of the Circuit Court of Cook County, Timothy C. Evans has devoted to the Northwest Suburban Bar Association (NWSBA) and the community of Cook County.

The scholarship is offered to currently enrolled law school students who reside in the Northern District of Illinois, Eastern Division (this includes Lake, Kane, DuPage, Cook, Will, Kendall, Grundy & LaSalle counties).

DRI 2014 Law Student Diversity Scholarship

Application Deadline: March 31, 2014

DRI announces its annual Law Student Diversity Scholarship proprogram open to rising (2014–15) second- and third-year African American, Hispanic, Asian, and Native American students. All rising second- and third year female law students are also eligible, regardless of race or ethnicity. Any other rising second- and third-year law students who also come from backgrounds that would add to the cause of diversity, regardless of race or gender are eligible to apply. Students who are members of the American Association for Justice (AAJ), Law School or Law Student members of AAJ or students otherwise affiliated with or employed by AAJ are not eligible for DRI Law Student Diversity Scholarships.

To qualify for this scholarship, candidate must be a full-time student. Evening students also qualify for consideration who have completed one third or more of the total credit hours required for a degree by the applicant’s law school. The goal of these scholarships is to provide financial assistance to two worthy law students from ABA accredited law schools in order to promote, in a tangible way, the DRI Diversity Statement in Principle.

Two scholarships in the amount of $10,000 each will be awarded to applicants who best meet the following criteria:


• Demonstrated academic excellence
• Service to the profession
• Service to the community
• Service to the cause of diversity

The Howard Fox Memorial Law Scholarship

In 1978 the Howard Fox Memorial Law Scholarship Fund was established by Helen and Richard Fox and Friends to honor the memory of their son who, as a proud member of the Berks County Bar Association, served as a young attorney in the Public Defender’s Office.

The Howard Fox Memorial Law Scholarship Award is presented annually at the Berks County Bar Association Law Day Event. It is given to help fund a deserving Berks County, Pennsylvania, resident embarking on his or her second year at an accredited Law School.

Interested students should visit the organization's web site, www.bccf.org for an online application for the Howard Fox Memorial Law Scholarship. Complete applications must be submitted to Berks County Community Foundation by April 1, 2014.

 

The Illinois Government Bar Association Scholarship

Application Deadline: April 1, 2014

The Illinois Government Bar Association serves public interest attorneys throughout the state of Illinois. Members include circuit, appellate and federal judges, as well as practitioners in many State agencies. The association is now accepting applications for its annual scholarship of $1000. This scholarship is designed to recognize outstanding commitment and achievement in public interest law. Applicants must have a job or an internship in Illinois in the public sector now or by June 2014. The job can be paid or upaid, full or part-time. Applications must be postmarked by April 1, 2014 to be considered. Application guidelines are available in the office of admissions, suite 230.

 

Grand Rapids Community Foundation Scholarships

Application Deadline: April 1, 2014

The Grand Rapids Community Foundation administers two scholarship programs funded by local law firms aimed at increasing diversity in all areas of the legal profession.

Miller Johnson West Michigan Diversity Scholarships are available to students of ethnic minority currently residing in Michigan (with preference given to West Michigan residents) pursuing a law degree at any accredited law school in the United States. One $5,000 scholarship is awarded each year.

Warner Norcross & Judd LLP Scholarships are awarded to students of racial and ethnic minority heritage pursuing a law degree. One $5,000 scholarship is awarded each year. The law school scholarship is not limited to schools in Michigan; however the applicant must be a current or former resident of Michigan if they are not currently attending a school in Michigan.

Fredrikson & Byron Foundation Minority Scholarship

The Fredrikson & Byron Foundation announces its 2014 scholarship opportunity for an exceptional first-year minority law school student. The scholarship program is part of the Fredrikson & Byron Foundation’s commitment to promoting diversity amongst incoming law professionals. The purpose of the program is to encourage them to join and excel in the private practice of law within larger corporate law firms in the Upper Midwest. The Crosner Legal Scholarship

The Crosner Legal Scholarship is to be awarded to a young and brilliant student for the 2014-2015 academic year and consists of a $1,000 award payable through the law school for the student’s behalf. The personal injury lawyers of Crosner Legal are committed to finding students who are passionate about their education. We believe that in order to become a great student, individuals should not be concerned about their financial situation. We want to do our part to alleviate some of these concerns. Crosner Legal is passionate about providing justice and maximum compensation to personal injury victims. We are looking for students who are just as passionate.

To apply for the Crosner Legal Scholarship, submit an essay to us (minimum 500 words) about the importance of education in America. We will be judging essays according to creativity and originality.
