notices of scholarships that are offered through external
organizations. Information about the scholarship awards
that are currently available is listed below. Award
notices are listed in the order in which they were received.

NEW! The Honorable Timothy C Evans Scholarship Award
Application Deadline: March 23, 2017
Students currently enrolled in law school may apply for the Honorable Timothy C. Evans Scholarship, sponsored by the Northwest Suburban Bar Association and the Northwest Suburban Bar Association Foundation.
This scholarship was established to honor the commitment and dedication that the Chief Judge of the Circuit Court of Cook County, Timothy C. Evans, has devoted to the Northwest Suburban Bar Association (NWSBA) and to the community of Cook County. Judge Evan’s tireless commitment to public service and his passionate pursuit of legal excellence and integrity mirror the very virtues embodied by the NWSBA and its esteemed membership. NEW! The Illinois Government Bar Association Scholarship Award
Application Deadline: April 1, 2017
Now in its eleventh year, the Illinois Government Bar Association Scholarship is awarded to a qualifying Illinois law student each spring. At least one $1,000 scholarship will be awarded this spring, but additional scholarships may be awarded depending on submissions. Interested students may pick up a scholarship application in the admissions office, suite 230 by Friday, March 31, 2017.
NEW! The Illinois Judicial Law Student Scholarship Award
Application Deadline: April 21, 2017
The Illinois Judicial Council Foundation is pleased to extend an invitation to Illinois 2nd and 3rd year law students to apply for its 2017-2018 scholarship. Since 1999, the Illinois Judicial Council Foundation (“IJCF”), our not-for profit entity, has funded
numerous scholarships, totaling in excess of $100,000.00, to minority and other deserving law
school students throughout Illinois and beyond. The IJCF has honored the IJC Scholarship
Committee with the task of selecting worthy recipients. The committee will use the following
criteria in awarding the scholarships: need, community involvement, academic achievement,
communication skills and ability to overcome obstacles.
Interested students may pick up a scholarship application in the admissions office, suite 230 by Wednesday, April 19, 2017.
The Aaron J. Boria, PLLC, Scholarship Award

The Wilshire Law Firm Scholarship Award
Application Deadline: March 31, 2017
As part of its goal to make education accessible to everyone, the Wilshire Law firm has established a biannual scholarship offered to a student who plans to pursue a career in the legal field. The purpose of the scholarship is to encourage and assist a motivated student, who has demonstrated academic excellence and a commitment to the community, to accomplish their dream to practice in the legal field. The David Benowitz Public Servants Scholarship Award
Application Deadline: March 31, 2017
This scholarship is for a student who can describe the importance of public service work and its positve effect on society. Also, in particular, how the work of public defenders and other public service workers positively affect the legal system. The essay needs to be 750 words long.
