Throughout the year, the Office of Admissions receives notices of scholarships that are offered through external organizations. Information about the scholarship awards that are currently available is listed below.  Award notices are listed in the order in which they were received.

NEW! The Hellenic Bar Association Scholarship Award

Application Deadline: October 9, 2017

Each year the Hellenic Bar Association of Illinois (“HBA”) offers scholarships to second and third year law students of Greek descent. Interested students can learn more and apply online at: https://goo.gl/TM13uf

NEW! The Black Women Lawyers Scholarship Award

Application Deadline: October 17, 2017

The Black Women Lawyers’ Association Scholarship Fund (BWLA-SF) will distribute up to $10,000 in book scholarships to deserving students to help ease the financial demands of law school. Winners will be announced in November 2017. All students who are in need of financial assistance are invited and encouraged to apply for the scholarship.

Selection Criteria
1) Attend an ABA accredited law school, with plans to return for the spring semester in 2018. 2) Have a demonstrated commitment to public service or diversity (evidenced by current participation in community service or outreach). 3) Have an unmet financial need.
4) Demonstrate good standing at your law school (evidenced by a letter of good standing or an official transcript). Interested applicants may pick up an application in the office of admissions and submit the completed application, and all other requested materials, via email to scholarship@bwla.org.

NEW! The Michael Weiner Scholarship Award

Application Deadline: November 13, 2017

The Ziprecruiter Scholarship Award

Application Deadline: September 30, 2017

ZipRecruiter is offering $3,000 to the college or university student with the most creative entry about their home or college town. The Cloud Peak Law's Scholarship Award

Application Deadline: November 15, 2017

Please write 350 words exploring whether your collegiate experience has shaped your views regarding national unity. We hope the act of thinking about and writing this essay will assist students with realizing we are in fact one nation undivided. We chose this year's topic in light of the often divisive language used in politics. It is our goal make a small contribution to national unity. The Will County Women's Bar Association Scholarship Award

Application Deadline: September 15, 2017

The Will County Women's Bar Association scholarship is open to individuals who live, work, intern or extern in Will County Illinois. The scholarship is $500 and a waiver of dues to the Will County Women's Bar Association for the first 2 years after admission to the bar. Candidates must live or work or intern/extern in Will County, Illinois. Also, candidates should have compeleted one semester of law school with a GPA of 2.5 out of 4.0 or above. Interested candidates should provide a resume, GPA, and in one page or less, state why you want to be an attorney and why you should be considered for the scholarship, including some background about yourself.
