Chicago-Kent College of Law

Students of Color and Cultural Diversity Open House

Thursday, December 1, 2011
5:30 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.

Chicago-Kent College of Law is committed to maintaining the diverse community that has been one of its strengths since 1894 when Ida Platt, the first African-American woman admitted to the Illinois bar and the second black woman admitted to practice law in the United States, earned her J.D. from our law school. Today, students of color make up 22 percent of the Fall 2011 entering class, and 46 percent of the students are women. The law school attracts students with diverse backgrounds and interests, which is reflected in the approximately 40 student organizations that are active on campus each year.

To learn more about the diversity of the Chicago-Kent community, please join us for our upcoming Students of Color and Cultural Diversity Open House. Student representatives from the Black Law Students Association, Hispanic-Latino Law Students Association, South Asian Law Student Association, Asian Pacific American Law Students Association, and the Chicago-Kent Lambdas will discuss the transition to law school and their experiences at Chicago-Kent.
