The construction of A2J Interviews is a multi-step process
that spans legal research and the use of technology. This
process can be broken down into the following steps:
- Scope: the initial planning document is a high
level document that outlines the creation process. The
scope or charter document will define the forms to be
created, the project resources and future milestones of
the project.
- Research: legal research and analysis on the
document(s) to be created and the substantive law behind
those documents. This research is presented in memorandum
format and addresses all of the issues relating to that
document and interview process.
- Storyboarding: is used to guide the creation
of the interview. The Storyboard expresses each of the
steps needed for the user to complete the interview as
well as the language used for each screen.
- Development: main technical work and construction
of the interview is done here. During development, each
step of the storyboard is created using A2J Author.
- Review: the A2J Author Interview is reviewed
by the editorial staff and outside lawyers to ensure that
all functional aspects and legal requirements are met.
- Publication: after approval, the interview and
supporting documentation is "published" online
at the A2J Student Editorial Board Website. The interview
is delivered to the public by the appropriate legal aid
organization or court system.
