Professor Michael Scodro is named Illinois Solicitor General
Chicago-Kent professor Michael A. Scodro was appointed Solicitor General of Illinois on July 19 by Illinois Attorney General Lisa Madigan. As solicitor general, Professor Scodro will oversee the attorney general’s civil and criminal appellate divisions in litigation before state and federal courts.
A Chicago-Kent faculty member since 2004, Professor Scodro is a former clerk for the Honorable Sandra Day O’Connor of the U.S. Supreme Court and the Honorable Jose A. Cabranes of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. He is a graduate of Dartmouth College and Yale Law School, where he served as an executive editor of the Yale Law Journal and an articles editor of the Yale Journal of International Law. At Chicago-Kent, Professor Scodro teaches contracts and securities regulation.
