Notice About Using Your Ventra U-Pass Card. We have learned (and the CTA has confirmed) that some Ventra card users are having their credit or debit cards charged for the cost of some rides. This seems to be happening if the user taps his or her wallet on the card reader, rather than removing the Ventra card and tapping it alone. The card reader apparently picks up the first signal it receives, which can be a credit or debit card rather than the Ventra card if both are in range of the reader. Please be sure to remove your Ventra card from your wallet before using it. If you have had charges to your credit or debit card, please contact me (firstname.lastname@example.org) and I will forward your information to the CTA with a request for assistance in getting the charges removed.
