CK Now: Panel on Public Protest and the Law. As part of its CKNow series, the Chicago-Kent CLE Department is presenting a panel discussion on "Public Protest and the Law" on Thursday, March 2, 4:00-6:00pm, in Rm. 590. The panel will include Prof. Sheldon Nahmod; Molly Armour of the National Lawyers Guild; and Ed Mullen of Bucktown Law. The panelists will discuss First Amendment rights as they relate to protests, local protest permit laws and how they relate to spontaneous protests, issues that undocumented immigrant and non-citizen protesters might face if arrested, and more. Praxis Certificate: Spring Enrollment Deadline and Kickoff Luncheon. The Praxis Program will hold its spring luncheon, on "Being Indispensible," on Tuesday, March 7, 12:00-1:00pm, in Rm. 370. The luncheon will feature a panel of attorneys and legal professionals including Elizabeth Cibula, Midwest Director of Training and Development, Sidley Austin; Robert Surrette, Partner, McAndrews Held & Malloy; and Ian Turvill, Chief Marketing Officer, Freeborn & Peters. A complimentary lunch will be served.
This once-a-semester luncheon is mandatory for students enrolled in the Praxis Certificate program, and open to students who may be interested in enrolling in Praxis.
