Academic Calendar Reminder. Spring Break begins Saturday, March 11, at 12:00 noon. Classes resume on Monday, March 20.

Use of MacBook Pro with Touchbar for Exams. In preparation for the upcoming Final Exam period, we are soliciting information from students who plan to use the MacBook Pro with Touchbar for their exams?. We have ?learned that there may be potential issues with respect to using the SofTest exam software with the MacBook Pro with Touchbar. If you have this laptop and are interested in using it for this semester's final exams, please click here.

Praxis Certificate: Spring Enrollment Deadline and Kickoff Luncheon. The Praxis Program will hold its spring luncheon, on "Being Indispensible," on Tuesday, March 7, 12:00-1:00pm, in Rm. 370. The luncheon will feature a panel of attorneys and legal professionals including Elizabeth Cibula, Midwest Director of Training and Development, Sidley Austin; Robert Surrette, Partner, McAndrews Held & Malloy; and Ian Turvill, Chief Marketing Officer, Freeborn & Peters.   A complimentary lunch will be served.

This once-a-semester luncheon is mandatory for students enrolled in the Praxis Certificate program, and open to students who may be interested in enrolling in Praxis. Eligibility requiremens are available by clicking here. Students already enrolled in the Praxis program will receive an invitation by e-mail, and interested students who are not currently enrolled should RSVP by emailing Professor Van Neste as soon as possible at mvanneste@kentlaw.iit.edu.

Lawyers Assistance Program: Office Hours at Chicago-Kent and Other Services. The Lawyers Assistance Program (LAP) holds periodic office hours at Chicago-Kent. LAP provides free and confidential assistance to members of the Illinois legal community, including students, and can help you with issues of addiction, stress, anxiety, depression, focusing, worries about the character and fitness process, and having a successful first-year transition. Click here for more information about LAP and the services it provides.

The remaining dates for Spring office hours are:

-Thursday, April 20

All office hours are from 10:00-2:00 in Rm. 285 (located in the southeast corner of the second floor; from the second floor atrium, go through the elevator bay and turn right). Walk-ins are welcome, or you can make an appointment by emailing Jamie Dureno at jdureno@illinoislap.org.

All discussion is confidential, and there is no record of your visit. The LAP clinician will also have literature and resources on hand to address many ethical or bar application related questions. No member of the Chicago-Kent administration is involved, ensuring absolute confidentiality.

If you are already in recovery, there are weekly A.A. meetings at LAP's Chicago office on Tuesdays, 12:15-1:15 pm, and Thursdays, 12:15-1:15 pm, at 20 S. Clark Street, Suite 1820. LAP also offers a Young Professional and Law Student Support Group on Fridays, 12:15-1:15pm at their Chicago office. Independent Research Opportunity with Prof. Nahmod. Prof. Nahmod is seeking interested students to pursue Independent Research projects for the Fall or Spring (Fall is preferable) in any of the following areas: constitutional law, free speech, religion, civil rights and liberties, and/or the Second Amendment. The Independent Research may be either the regular variety or for seminar credit. Both varieties are one credit, graded pass/fail.
