ASP Workshop on Outlining. The Academic Support Program's second Fall workshop will address different approaches to the course outlining process and will feature students and faculty sharing tips for assembling a useable and complete course outline. The program for day students will be held on Tuesday, October 3, 12:00-12:50 pm (Auditorium). The program for evening students will be held on Wednesday, October 4, 7:35-8:25 pm (Rm. 510). Although the programs are mainly aimed at first-year students, all students are welcome to attend. For more information about the Academic Support Program, visit the ASP web page. The Chicago-Kent Institute for Compliance in Financial Markets will present a Career Chat with Lindsey Simon on Wednesdsay, October 4, at 3:00pm in Rm. 270. Lindsey Simon is a securities professional with over twenty years of experience. She served as a Senior Attorney with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission and as General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer at Carpe Diem Capital Management. She currently runs Simon Compliance, a compliance consulting firm.
eDiscovery Conference Student Essay/Video Contest. Would you like to present an innovative, thoughtful law+tech idea to bench and bar, alongside professors, judges and attorneys, before you graduate? If so, submit a 2,000-word essay (or a 15-minute YouTube video, or a multi-pic Instagram Feed, or … ) on a futuristic trend, technology, challenge, development, event, or concept that relates to law, affects e-discovery, yields new litigation evidence, or is just plain fascinating. Examples include cryptocurrencies, the dark web, machine learning, smart cities, covert e-mail tracking, and robotics. If selected, you will be given a 15minute slot for a TED Talk-style speech to the audience at the 2017 Chicago-Kent eDiscovery Institute.
