Sponsor/Title: The Asian Law Journal.
Topic: Submissions must explore legal issues that impact the Asian Pacific American community. Possible topics include, but are not limited to, Asian Pacific American political empowerment, the use of "cultural defenses" in criminal law, racial profiling, or Asian Pacific Americans and affirmative action.
Prizes:  First place, $250.
Deadline:  Submissions must be postmarked by October 15, 2001.

Sponsor/Title: ASECA Securities Law Writing Competition.
Topic: Any subect in the field of securities law.
Prizes:  First place, $3,000; second place, $2,000; third place, $1,000.
Deadline:  The deadline for submissions is December 15, 2001.

Sponsor/Title: The NRA Civil Rights Defense Fund 2001-2002 Law Student Essay Contest.
Topic: The right of the individual to keep and bear arms as a federally protected right.
Prizes:  First place, $5,000; second place, $3,000; third place, $2,000; fourth place, $1,000.
Deadline:  Submissions must be postmarked or delivered no later than March 31, 2002.

Sponsor/Title: The NRA Civil Rights Defense Fund and the NRA Foundation, Inc.
Topic: Scholarships are available to third-year law students who submit articles on the constitutional right to keep and bear arms of quality suitable for publication in a law review.
Prizes:  First place, $12,500 toward tuition; second place, $5,000; third place, $2,500.
Deadline:  Submissions must be received no later than July 1, 2002.
