Sponsor/Title: Dorothy Schramm World Affairs
Student Writing Competition.
Topic: Any topic related to contemporary transnational
legal concerns.
Prizes: Publication in Transnational Law
& Contemporary Problems, and a cash prize if funds become
available.
Deadline: Submissions must be received
by February 1, 2003.
Sponsor/Title: Roscoe Hogan
Environmental Law Essay Contest.
Topic: "Brother, can you spare a dime?"
Countering corporate evasion of environmental accountability
through bankruptcy.
Prizes: First place, $5,000 and publication
of article.
Deadline: Intent to Enter form must be
submitted by February 7, 2003. Essays must be received
no later than March 28, 2003.
Sponsor/Title: AIPLA (American Intellectual
Property Law Association) Quarterly Journal.
Topic: To be announced.
Prizes: The competition is used to select
student members of the AIPLA Quarterly Journal; no monetary
prizes are awarded.
Deadline: Students wishing to compete
must submit a Request to Compete form no later than Friday,
March 14, 2003. Competition packets will then be mailed
on Friday, March 21, and must be returned no later than the
following Monday.
Sponsor/Title: NRA Civil Rights Defense Fund
2002-2003 Law Student Essay Contest.
Topic: The subject of the contest is "the
right of the individual to keep and bear arms as a federally
protected right."
Prizes: First place, $5,000; second place,
$3,000; third place, $2,000; fourth place, $1,000.
Deadline: Submissions must be postmarked
or delivered on or before April 30, 2003.
Sponsor/Title: NRA Civil Rights Defense Fund
Scholarship Contest for Third-Year Law Students.
Topic: The constitutional right to keep and
bear arms.
Prizes: First place, $12,500 toward tuition;
second place, $5,000; third place, $2,500.
Deadline: Submissions must be received
on or before July 1, 2003.
Sponsor/Title: American Intellectual Property
Association, Robert C. Watson Competition.
Topic: A subject relating to the protection
of intellectual property.
Prizes: First place, $2,000.
Deadline: Entries must be submitted on
or before July 31, 2003.
