Sponsor/Title: University of Leicester Victoria Fisher Memorial Prize.
Topic: Women and the law.
Prizes:  First place, 250 British pounds.
Deadline:  Entries must be received by September 30, 2004.

Sponsor/Title: Asian Law Journal Student Writing Competition.
Topic: Legal issues that impact the Asian Pacific American community. Possible topics include, but ar not limited to, Asian Pacific American political empowerment, the use of "cultural defenses" in criminal law, racial profiling, or Asian Pacific Americans and affirmative action. However, submissions focusing on any legal issue affecting Asian Americans will be considered.
Prizes:  First place, $250 and publication of the article.
Deadline:  Entries must be postmarked by October 22, 2004.

Sponsor/Title: Berkeley Women's Law Journal Writing Award.
Topic: The Journal publishes pieces that address the lives and struggles of underrepresented women. In particular, the Journal seeks submissions that examine the intersection of gender with one or more other axes of subordination including, but not limited to, race, class, sexual orientation, and disability.
Prizes:  First place, $250 and publication of the article.
Deadline:  Entries must be received by November 1, 2004.

Sponsor/Title: National Conference of Commissioners on Uniform State Laws, William J. Pierce Writing Contest.
Topic: Entries must address a uniform or model act, or an issue arising from a uniform or model act promulgated by NCCUSL.
Prizes:  First place, $500.
Deadline:  Entries must be received no later than December 1, 2004.

Sponsor/Title: American College of Consumer Financial Services Lawyers Writing Competition.
Topic: Consumer financial services law.
Prizes:  First place, $1,000.
Deadline:  Entries must be submitted before December 1, 2004.

Sponsor/Title: NRA Civil Rights Defense Fund Law Student Essay Contest.
Topic: The right of the individual to keep and bear arms as a federally protected right.
Prizes:  First place, $5,000; second place, $3,000; third place, $2,000; fourth place, $1,000.
Deadline:  Entries must be postmarked or delivered on or before May 31, 2005.

Sponsor/Title: NRA Civil Rights Defense Fund Scholarship Contest for Law Students.
Topic: Scholarships will be awarded to law students who submit articles on the constitutional right to keep and bear arms of quality suitable for publication in a law review journal. Open to third-year law students (as of Fall 2004).
Prizes:  First place, $12,500 toward tuition; second place, $5,000; third place, $2,500.
Deadline:  Entries must be received on or before June 1, 2005.
