*Congratulations to Michael Brandt (class of 2011) for winning first place in the Santa Clara University School of Law's Centennial Student Writing Competition.
*Congratulations to Elizabeth K. Camille (class of 2012) for winning first place in the 2010 SmithAmundsen Excellence in Legal Writing Award.
*Congratulations to Keith R. Syverson (class of 2011) for winning first place in the 2010 Chicago-Kent Institute for Law and the Humanities Paper Competition, and to Jerry D. Thomas (class of 2011) for winning second place in the competition.


Sponsor/Title: Association of Securities and Exchange Commission Alumni (ASECA) Securities Law Writing Competition.
Topic: Any subject in the field of securities law.
Prizes: First place, $5,000; second place, $3,000; third place, $2,000.
Deadline: November 18, 2011.

Sponsor/Title: The American Indian Law Review Writing Competition.
Topic: Any topic concerning American Indian Law.
Prizes: First place, $1,000 and publication of paper; second place, $500; third place, $250.
Deadline: January 31, 2012.

Sponsor/Title: ELI-ABA-NAELS Constitutional Environmental Law Student Writing Competition.
Topic: Any topic addressing recent developments or trends in U.S. environmental law that have a significant constitutional or federalism component.
Prizes: First place, $2,000 and publication of paper.
Deadline: April 13, 2012.
