SPRING BUILDING/LIBRARY HOURS

The new hours for the Spring semester will begin on TUESDAY, JANUARY 21, 2003. The building and library hours are as follows:

Friday 7:15 am - 9:45 pm
Saturday 8:15 am - 8:15 pm

LIBRARY HOURS

Library hours will be extended in early May to accommodate students during final exams (times to-be-announced).

DISCOUNTED  PUBLIC  PARKING  RATES AT THREE LOCATIONS
FOR STUDENTS - SPRING 2003

****TWO NEW PARKING GARAGES AVAILABLE****

Effective Monday, February 24, 2003, InterParking will offer discounted parking to students at the DTC at two of it's parking garages. One garage is at 550 West Jackson, behind the DTC on Quincy Street, and the other is at 550 West Monroe, with entry either on Monroe between Clinton and Canal or entry on Canal, just north of Monroe. Presidential Towers is still offering discounted parking for members of the DTC community for the Spring term.

Students who wish to take advantage of the discounts may pick-up the new parking sticker for the Spring semester from FOLLETT'S BOOKSTORE, C60.

If you currently don't have an IIT Photo ID, you should contact the following:

PRESIDENTIAL TOWERS (ROOF TOP PARKING ONLY)

Monroe, Jefferson and Madison Streets (Enter on Jefferson)

DAILY DISCOUNT RATE - $9.50 per 12-hour day

MONTHLY PASS - (Not Available)

The discounted rate will be honored provided you follow these instructions:

1. Bring your IIT I.D. card
2. Place your Chicago-Kent parking sticker to the lower left front windshield of your car (the sticker must be displayed at all times when your vehicle is parked in the parking garage).
3. Payment must be made by cash or check (no credit cards)

INTERPARKING (Two Parking Garages Available)

550 West Jackson (Enter on Quincy Street)
GARAGE IS ONLY OPEN MONDAY-FRIDAY, 6:00 am to 8:00 pm
(anyone entering during hours of operation can exit anytime after the garage closes by entering through the main lobby on Jackson)

DAILY DISCOUNT RATE - $9.00 (discount only available for entry after 3:00 pm)

Current Normal Rate - $10.00

DISCOUNT MONTHLY PASS - $200 per month

Current Monthly Pass Normal Rate - $210-$225

The discounted rate will be honored provided you follow these instructions:

Bring your IIT I.D. card
• Place your Chicago-Kent parking sticker to the lower left front windshield of your car (the sticker must be displayed at all times when your vehicle is parked in the parking garage)
• Payment must be made by cash or check when entering the garage (no credit cards)
• All daily rate parkers must write their full name and IIT email address on the parking ticket presented by the attendant in order to receive the discount.

The discounted rates will be honored provided you follow these instructions:

1. Bring your IIT I.D. card
2. Place your Chicago-Kent parking sticker to the lower left front windshield of your car (the sticker must be displayed at all times when your vehicle is parked in the parking garage).
3. Parking stickers/coupons in blocks of ten (10) must be purchased in advance at the garage office located on the first level of the parking garage. Stickers can be purchased Monday-Friday, 8:00 am-11:00 pm. Payment can be made by cash, check or credit card (VISA, Mastercard, Discover)

Downtown Campus General Safety Tips

Do not travel alone in public areas, or stand alone at the bus stop, or corner.  Keep alert for person(s) following you.  Be wary of strangers offering assistance.  Don't openly wear or display jewelry or handbags.  The Downtown Campus of IIT provides year-round security officer escorts after 5:00 PM weekdays and on weekends.

Reserving a Room at the Downtown Campus

Faculty, staff, students and student organizations can reserve rooms at the Downtown Campus for meetings, study, speaker events, etc.  An electronic form is available online. An email will be sent to you confirming your reservation within 24 business hours.
