STUDENT EMPLOYMENT FALL 2005

A new payroll authorization must be completed by all student employees who work after AUGUST 14, 2005 (note: "FALL Term" begins AUGUST 15). Payroll authorizations are available in the OFFICE OF ADMINISTRATION AND FINANCE, SUITE 265.

The payroll authorization should be filled out completely listing AUGUST 15, 2005 or after as the "Effective Date" of employment. The faculty member or administrator who you are working for should fill in the account number plus sub-account "1271"and sign the payroll authorization in the "Department Head" section. All students should then submit the form to the Office of Administration & Finance (Suite 265) for processing.

DISCOUNT PUBLIC PARKING RATES FOR DTC FACULTY, STAFF AND STUDENTS - FALL 2005 (Revised 07/27/05)

PRESIDENTIAL TOWERS and IMPERIAL PARKING (formerly Inter-Parking) are continuing the discounted parking for members of the DTC community for the FALL 2005 Terms. Below is the rate information.

The SPRING/SUMMER 2005 permit will be honored through AUGUST 31, 2005. The FALL 2005 permit will be honored effective September 1, 2005.

Faculty and staff may pick-up the Fall Semester permit from:

  • Theda Mickey, Office of Administration and Finance, Suite 265

Students may pick-up the Fall Semester permit from:

  • Barnes & Noble Bookstore, C-60

DOWNTOWN CAMPUS SAFETY TIPS

Do not travel alone in public areas, or stand alone at the bus stop, or corner. Keep alert for person(s) following you. Be wary of strangers offering assistance. Don't openly wear or display jewelry or handbags. The Downtown Campus of IIT provides year-round security officer escorts after 5:00 PM weekdays and on weekends. 

TRAFFIC ALERT! WASHINGTON BLVD. BRIDGE OVER KENNEDY EXPRESSWAY IS CLOSED THROUGH DECEMBER '05

The Washington Blvd. Bridge over the Kennedy Expressway is closed for reconstruction through December 2005. Chicago Department of Transportation (CDOT) has posted detour routes.

The bridge reconstruction project is planned to be completed by the end of the year. Included in the project is removal of the entry ramps to Kennedy Expressway. The removal will be done at night and noise/vibration is expected.

Reconstruction of the Monroe Street Bridge over the expressway is scheduled for early 2006.

Faculty, staff, students and student organizations can reserve rooms at the Downtown Campus for meetings, study, speaker events, etc. An electronic form is available online. An email will be sent to you confirming your reservation within 24 business hours.
