Student Employment for Fall 2007 (posted 08/15/2007)

If you wish to have your current Summer Student Assistant(s) continue for the fall semester, now is the time to complete a new Payroll Authorization (P/A). The current P/A on file expires as of 08/25/2007. A new P/A must be completed with Effective Date: 08/26/2007.

The End Date can be either:

  • 12/31/2007 (for all International Students, if a student is a December 2007 graduate and/or if you are unsure whether to hire him/her through the end of the school year).
  • 05/31/2008 (you want to hire students for the school year)

Failure to complete a P/A to rehire the student will result in him/her being removed from Payroll.

Remember, during the school year when classes are in session a full-time student can only work a maximum of 20 hours/week. During the Christmas/New Year Holiday break, the week of spring break and during the summer session, students are allowed to work a maximum of 40 hours/week.

The following information explains what paperwork is required based on student status. The requirements differ for students who are US Citizens versus International Students.
