Resources Available to Chicago-Kent Alumni

As we get ready to kick off another school year, I wanted to make you aware of some of the resources available to you as alumni of Chicago-Kent.

If you are working on launching your career or moving in a new direction, the Chicago-Kent Career Services Office is open Monday through Friday to provide career counseling, resume and cover letter review, and interview strategy as well as access to online job postings. You also can connect with fellow alumni for networking purposes through our Alumni Online Community and LinkedIn Group.

You will receive a warm welcome at the Chicago-Kent library, which makes its collections available on-site to alumni, even when the library is closed to the public during exam periods. Materials can be checked out for a small annual fee and, if you have a research questions, the fantastic reference services staff can assist you in person, by phone (312-906-5670), by email or by chat.

The law school is an accredited provider of Illinois Minimum Continuing Legal Education (MCLE) and the Office of Continuing Legal and Professional Education (CLPE) offers live conferences and video lectures in a variety of substantive areas throughout the year. Additionally, the Office of Alumni Relations has partnered with the Young Alumni Council to offer a CLE & Networking Series each spring.

Finally, last November, Chicago-Kent launched its Solo and Small Practice Incubator, a one-year program designed to offer a select group of entrepreneurial-minded recent IIT Chicago-Kent graduates with valuable experience and ongoing training to help build their professional careers as solo or small firm legal practitioners. Participants in the SSPI are provided with office space, networking opportunities and mentoring support from Chicago-Kent’s clinical faculty as well as many other resources. If you are a recent graduate and would like to participate in the 2013-2014 Solo and Small Practice Incubator program, you can download the application here.

I encourage you all to take advantage of the many opportunities Chicago-Kent provides. You are an invaluable resource to us here at Chicago-Kent, and we are privileged to support your success long after graduation. I trust that you will enjoy the rest of your summer.

Sincerely,

Harold J. Krent
Dean and Professor of Law

Professor Emeritus Fred Bosselman

We regret to share the news that Professor Emeritus Fred Bosselman passed away on August 4. CLE & Networking Series Survey
The CLE & Networking Series, sponsored by the Chicago-Kent Young Alumni Council, was a huge success, but we are always looking for ways to improve. If you attended one or more programs in the series, please take this short survey to provide us with your feedback. If you did not attend any programs in this series, please let us know why by taking this brief survey. The CLE & Networking Series will resume in January 2014.
