Celebrating the Achievements of Our 125th Anniversary

As we enter the holiday season, I would like to take a moment to reflect on what a tremendous success this past year has been for Chicago-Kent. We began our 125th Anniversary celebration in February with the gala at Chicago’s Union Station. This extraordinary event was attended by more than 850 of our alumni and friends, making it one of the largest events in the history of Chicago-Kent and set the tone for the rest of the year.

With the launch of the Oyez Project’s ISCOTUSnow app and the expansion of the Access to Justice Initiative to a national audience, we honored our strong public interest tradition as well as our historical focus on the intersection between technology and the law.  This year we opened the Bruce M. Kohen courtroom, a fully-equipped, state of the art facility to serve as a practice space for our nationally-recognized advocacy programs, and we launched our Center on Empirical Studies of Intellectual Property with a conference co-hosted by the PTO.  For the tenth year in a row, Chicago-Kent graduates far exceeded the statewide pass rate on the Illinois bar exam, which is a testament to the fine preparation our students receive from our outstanding faculty. And this September, we hosted the first-ever Chicago-Kent All-School Reunion and Block Party, where more than 1,000 students, faculty, alumni and friends gathered to celebrate Chicago-Kent in true summer style.

I am especially grateful to the alumni community for your support throughout this anniversary year. On Thursday, November 21, we honored some of our most distinguished alumni at the 125 Alumni of Distinction Dinner. These graduates have helped shape the legal profession and raised the profile of Chicago-Kent on a global level, as have so many of you. I look forward to celebrating the achievements of our 126th year with you and, with your help, we can continue our wonderful trajectory.

Donate to Chicago-Kent's New Student Game Room

Who says law students are all work and no play? The Chicago-Kent student body has requested that we convert the 5th Floor student lounge from study space into a game room and social space. In order to honor this request, the Alumni Association is seeking donations of arcade games, pool and ping pong tables, and other items to outfit a game room.

Please contact if you have an item to donate. Your donation is an important step in building an engaging campus environment and improving the student experience at Chicago-Kent.
