New Facilities Improvements Underway at Chicago-Kent

This spring Chicago-Kent began a number of facilities improvement projects designed to improve the student experience and enhance the reputation of the law school.

On April 8, we dedicated the James L. Morici, Jr. Advocacy Corridor, a vibrant new space outside the first floor courtrooms, which, thanks to the generosity of its namesake, will now house trophy cases for our advocacy teams. With the tremendous success of both our Trial Advocacy and Moot Court teams experienced this year, Jim’s gift couldn’t have come at a better time.

This summer’s projects include renovations to open the outdoor patio space outside the 10th floor event room, and opening the Elaine R. Levin Student Lounge on the second floor. Students will now be able to enjoy stunning views of the city of Chicago as well as relax and study in comfort.

Jim and Elaine’s gifts are just two examples of how alumni support is vital to the growth of Chicago-Kent. I want to thank Jim, Elaine and more than # members of the alumni community who donated to Chicago-Kent this past fiscal year. Our robust and dedicated alumni community creates a truly bright and vibrant future for Chicago-Kent. I hope you all will take advantage of the numerous events taking place this summer including Alumni Gatherings in Washington DC and Denver on June 4 and 18th, the Trial Advocacy Reunion on June 11th and the last of our Alumni CLE Series on Ethics on June 19th to meet each other and stay engaged with us as we embark upon the 2014 school year.

Sincerely,
Harold J. Krent
Dean and Professor of Law

Past Event Highlights

Chicago-Kent April Alumni Events

April was a busy month at Chicago-Kent, both at home and on the road. We honored alumni whose lives and careers had been devoted to serving the public interest, and one alumnus in particular whose philanthropy brightened the halls of Chicago-Kent. We hosted fun social gatherings for our Southern California alumni and graduates within the past ten years. And finally, we came together at the KJF Auction to support the public interest students who gain real world experience in summer internships funded through the KJF Fellowships. Thank you to our wonderful alumni community for your support!
