July 2011 Bar Exam Results

The Illinois Bar Exam results from July 2011 are in, and I am thrilled to announce that Chicago-Kent had the best bar exam passage rate in the state of Illinois. This year, Chicago-Kent had a record-high 97% pass rate for first-time test takers, 7% over the state-wide passage rate. The overall passage rate for Chicago-Kent was 95%, compared to the statewide overall passage rate of 87%.

This is an extraordinary achievement, and on behalf the Chicago-Kent community, I would like to congratulate the newest members of the Illinois State Bar, and offer our thanks to all who committed their time and effort helping Chicago-Kent's newest alumni prepare for the exam.

This month, we will also honor some of our remarkable alumni and dedicated volunteers at our annual Alumni Awards & Recognition Luncheon on Friday, November 18 at the Standard Club. Congratulations to the 2011 Alumni Award recipients and many thanks to our alumni and friends who volunteered for the law school over the past year.

For additional information on the 2011 Alumni Awards & Recognition Luncheon and to RSVP by Friday, November 11, please visit www.kentlaw.edu/allalumlunch. I look forward to seeing you there.

Sincerely,

Harold J. Krent
