Greetings Class of 2007 – Information on Commencement
Greetings from the Office of Alumni Relations! While many
of you may associate our office with just alumni affairs,
you may be interested to know that we interact with students
all the time, most prominently as we celebrate your graduation
by planning all of the details regarding Commencement.
This year's Commencement Ceremony will be held on SUNDAY,
May 20, at the Arie Crown Theater, McCormick Place.
The day includes a formal indoor ceremony at the Theater,
followed by a lovely reception at the venue. Seven tickets
will be issued to each graduate, and students may then elect
to purchase additional tickets for their guests.
While you will hear more from us in the coming weeks, look
regularly in this section of the Record for important information
you will need to know, as well as upcoming updates on the
law school's Web site.
ALSO
PLEASE NOTE...
Ticket Distribution week
has been changed to the week of April 23. Look for more
details in upcoming issues of The Record, and to your Kentlaw.edu
email account.

All Students: Apply for the Berman Arts Award
Chicago-Kent alumnus Ronald M. Berman, Class of 1987, has
established an award for a Chicago-Kent College of Law student
who is interested in art, working with or representing not-for-profit
arts organization, or representing artists.
The purpose of the Berman Arts Award is to expose law to
artists and the way they are trained, thus giving students
a unique perspective as they enter the legal profession
to represent and work with artists and arts organizations.
The Berman Arts Award will provide $1,000 toward tuition
and related costs for a Chicago-Kent College of Law student
to attend a 2007 summer studio workshop the Anderson Ranch
Arts Center in Snowmass Village, Colorado. The Anderson
Ranch Arts Center offers more than 130 summer workshops
taught by today’s most prominent artists and educators who
come to share their skills and experience with more than
1,200 participants. There are workshops for artists of all
skill levels and experience from the novice to the professional
studio artist. See http://www.andersonranch.org/
for more information about the Anderson Ranch Arts Center
and details concerning the workshops offered during the
summer of 2007
Students with interest in art, working for or representing
not for profit arts organizations, or representing artists
and their legal needs (i.e. corporate, intellectual property
issues) may apply for this unusual opportunity by submitting
a curriculum vitae to Elizabeth Turley, Assistant Dean for
Institutional Advancement, Room 310 on or before April 1,
2007. Need is not a criteria for this award.
