2010 Commencement Information
Your Commencement is Sunday, May 16, 2010
Fall 2009 and Spring 2010 Graduates: The Alumni Asociation is your home for Commencement 2010! Your official commencement ceremony will take place Sunday, May 16, 2010 at 2:30 pm at the UIC Forum, 725 W Roosevelt Rd., Chicago, IL 60608.

May 2010 Graduates: Required Forms
In order to participate in the commencement ceremony on May 16, 2010, all students must submit the following form:
- The Cap and Gown Order Form. Caps and Gowns ordered by Thursday, April 1 are complimentary on behalf of the Alumni Association; however, forms submitted beginning April 2 at Midnight will be charged a late fee.
In order to graduate, all students must submit the following forms:
- The Application for Graduation was due on Friday, February 5. Contact the Registrar's Office immediately if you did not fill it out and you intend to graduate in May.
- The 2010 Graduate Survey must be submitted no later than Friday, April 23. All information is strictly confidential. Please note, this survey is ONLY for May 2010 Graduates.

Composite Photos - Proofs Due April 1
If you have taken a composite photo, please be sure to return your photo proofs to the photographer—not to the Alumni office—by April 1 with your selected photo circled.
Instructions and a return envelope were included in your photo proofs packet. If you took your picture in February or March and do not yet have your photo proofs, you may pick them up in the Alumni Association, Suite 310, 8:30 a.m. - 6:00 p.m., Monday - Friday.
Please Note: If you do not return your composite proofs by April 1, the photographer will choose a picture for you.

IIT Commencement Ceremony
Chicago-Kent graduates have the option of participating in a campus-wide IIT Commencement Ceremony on Saturday, May 15, 2010 on the main campus in addition to your Chicago-Kent only ceremony.

Have a family member who's a graduate?
Ask him or her to be your Alumni Legacy Hooder
Chicago-Kent tradition of Alumni Legacy Hooding allows a graduate to be hooded by an alumni
relative during the ceremony. If you are an immediate relative
of a Chicago-Kent alumnus/a and would like him/her to hood you at
the ceremony, please email email@example.com for additional details.
Please note that this person must be both an alumnus of Chicago-Kent
College of Law and an immediate relative of yours. Unfortunately
there are no exceptions to this rule.
All Alumni Legacy Hooders will participate in the graduation
processional and recessional and therefore will be sitting on
the stage throughout the ceremony. Legacy Hooders do NOT need
a graduation ticket. Legacy Hooders will wear caps and gowns and
will pick up their regalia in the Faculty Robing Room on graduation

Your 7 complimentary commencement tickets and cap and gown will be distributed in the lobby of the law school building from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. You MUST pick up your commencement materials this day.
*Those wishing to purchase extra tickets may do so on a first-come, first-serve basis for $10/ticket. Graduates and children under two do not need a ticket.
Sunday, May 16
The 2010 Commencement Ceremony takes place at 2:30 p.m. at the UIC Forum, 725 W Roosevelt Rd., Chicago, IL 60608. Graduates should arrive by 1:00. A champagne reception immediately follows.
Section Contest Runs through April 16
A special prize will be given to the section that has the most donors. Sections are based on your first-year placement or division.

J.D. Class Gift Project
The 2010 Class Gift Committee announces two J.D. class gift projects:
1) The Loan Repayment Assistance Program. This endowed program provides financial assistance to Chicago-Kent graduates burdened with educational debt who work in the public interest at very modest salaries.
2) A Technology Enhancement Fund for the Office of Career Services to improve technology for students as they apply for jobs and internships.

LL.M. Class Gift Project
The Office of Institutional Law and Policy Technology Enhancement Fund
This year, for the first time, the 2010 LLM graduating class is sponsoring a class gift to benefit the Office of International Law and Policy Development (OILP).
As part of the graduation celebration, LLM students are invited to support the LLM Class Gift to raise money to benefit the OILP Technology Enhancement Fund. Funds will help underwrite capital purchases like a scanner for use by LLM students in OILP.
All donors to the class gift will receive a pewter zipper pull to wear on their graduation robes and will be recognized online and in the Chicago-Kent community. A suggested minimum contribution is $10.

On this special night the White Sox are offering half-priced tickets to all Chicago-Kent alumni, students, faculty, staff, and their family & friends. Tickets regularly priced at $39, $35 and $20 are available for $19.50, $17.50 and $10.
Ticket orders must be submitted to the Chicago White Sox by Friday, April 23 . There are three ticket purchase options:
- WEB: Click here , select your number of tickets, and type “KENT” in the special offer code box. Service fees will apply. This option may only be used for orders of 19 or fewer tickets.
- PHONE: Call (866) 769-4263 for Ticketmaster and give the "KENT" code. Service fees will apply.

Alumni from around the world are available to discuss issues such as practice trends, legal markets in specific geographic areas, and other career-related topics. This is an excellent opportunity to start building your personal network with Chicago-Kent alumni!
To search for an Alumni Career Advisor, all you have to do is log-in to the Chicago-Kent Alumni Online Community:
First Time Login Instructions:
- Go to www.alumni.kentlaw.edu/firstlogin
- In the Constituent ID field, enter your Banner CWID.
To find your Banner CWID login to http://my.iit.edu. Once you are logged, on the right side of your screen you should see a box called IIT Personal ID numbers. The Banner CWID is the number beginning with “A.”
- In the Class Year Field:
- If you are an LLM student, enter LLM
- If you are a Visiting student, enter LV
- If you are a JD student your Class Year will be three characters. The first letter for all class years will be L. The second letter is your division. The third is your year number.
Examples: A 2nd year night student’s class year is LN2. A 1st year day student’s class year is LD1.
During your first time login you will create a username and password. Afterwards, you may log in directly at www.alumni.kentlaw.edu/advisorsearch using the username and password you created.
