Commencement Information
Fall 2010 and Spring 2011 Graduates: The Alumni Association is your home for Commencement 2011! Your official commencement ceremony will take place Sunday, May 15, 2011 at 2:30 pm at the UIC Forum, 725 W Roosevelt Rd., Chicago, IL 60608.
Please watch your kentlaw.edu email for announcements and updates throughout the year. For more information, including FAQs, please visit the Commencement Portal online.

Required Forms: Graduate Survey Due May 2!
In order to graduate, all students must submit the following forms:
- The Application for Graduation was due no later than Friday, January 28.
- The 2011 Graduate Survey must be submitted no later than Monday, May 2.
In order to participate in the commencement ceremony on May 15, 2011, all students must submit the following forms:
- The Cap and Gown Order Form. Caps and Gowns ordered by midnight on Monday, April 4 were complimentary on behalf of the Alumni Association; however, forms submitted after the deadline will be charged a $20 late fee.

Grad Fest: Thursday, May 5
Your tickets and cap and gown will be distributed in the lobby of the law school building from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. You MUST pick up your commencement materials this day.

UPDATE: Commencement Tickets
Please see the following details about Commencement tickets:
- Each graduate receives seven (7) complimentary tickets.
- Tickets will distributed at GRAD FEST on Thursday, May 5 from 10:00 a.m.-7:00 p.m. in the lobby of the law school.
- A Photo ID is required to obtain your tickets.
- Both the Cap and Gown form and the Graduate Survey must be submitted before you can receive your tickets.
- Graduates do not need a ticket.
- Any child under the age of two, or who will be sitting on an adult's lap, does not need a ticket.
- NO additional tickets will be available for purchase at GRAD FEST.
- Any graduate who is NOT using all seven of his/her tickets should email commencement@kentlaw.edu (in advance of May 5) with any extras that you can return.
- If you are looking for extra tickets, please tell us when you pick up your tickets at GRAD FEST. We cannot guarantee any extra tickets at this point, but we will contact you if there are tickets available for purchase beginning Monday, May 9 at 8:30 am in Suite 310. More, final details will be available at GRAD FEST.
Please note: Selling, buying and/or reproducing commencement tickets are strictly forbidden. These acts are punishable by law and can affect your graduation status.

Venue Information
The Chicago-Kent College of Law Commencement Ceremony will be held on Sunday, May 15, 2011 at 2:30 p.m. at the UIC Forum*, 725 W Roosevelt Rd., Chicago, IL 60608. A champagne reception immediately follows in a tent across the street from the UIC Forum.
*Please note that the venue is not the UIC Pavilion.
Seating
Doors open to guests at 1:30 PM.* Please note that if guests arrive early, they will not be allowed to enter the theater until this time. Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis (general admission). All children over the age of two will need a ticket to the ceremony unless they are sitting on an adult's lap.
Theater doors will close at 2:20 PM. Guests who arrive after this time must wait to be seated until graduates and faculty have processed.
*Doors open for those with “Special Assistance” Tickets at 1:15 PM.
Please note, balloons, signs and any other large items will block the view of audience members and we ask that you do not bring them into the venue.
The ceremony will last approximately 2 hours. A champagne reception will immediately follow. The ceremony and reception typically last a combined total of three hours.
Driving Directions and Public Transportation
The UIC Forum is located at 725 W Roosevelt Rd, Chicago, IL 60608. The venue is accessible by both car and public transportation.
Driving: Driving directions are available on the UIC Forum's website.
Public Transit: From downtown Chicago via the L train, take the blue line to the UIC/Halsted stop and walk three blocks south. From the north or south, take the #8 Halsted bus and get off at Roosevelt Rd. From the west, take the #12 Roosevelt bus to Halsted St. or the #18 16th-18th bus to Halsted St. & Roosevelt Rd. For personalized directions, we suggest using Google Transit or the CTA Trip Planner.
Parking, Dropping-Off and Entering the Forum
Parking is $8* per vehicle and is available at the following lots:
Main Lot: Lot 5, 1135 S. Morgan St.,, West of the venue, North of Roosevelt
Alternative Lot: Lot 4, 760 W Taylor St., Halsted and Taylor
Dropping-Off Passengers: To drop-off passengers needing special assistance or who cannot walk long distances, there will be a pull-over site on Roosevelt Rd, heading east outside the venue.
Entering the Venue: The entrance to the UIC Forum is on Roosevelt Rd. Each guest entering the venue (except for graduates and children under the age of 2) must present an official Commencement ticket to the ushers.

Special Assistance Tickets: Deadline May 5
If you or your guests require special assistance or accessible seating at the commencement ceremony, please contact Tara Anderson, Director of Alumni Relations, at (312) 906-5245 or commencement@kentlaw.edu by May 5, 2011 to receive accessible seating tickets.
- Guests who request accessible seating tickets will receive specially marked tickets. Those who have special assistance tickets may begin seating at 1:15 pm. Seating opens for all other guests at 1:30 pm.
- To drop-off passengers needing special assistance or who cannot walk long distances, there will be a pull-over site on Roosevelt Rd, heading east outside the venue.

IIT Commencement Ceremony
All IIT Chicago-Kent College of Law graduates are also invited to participate in a campus-wide Illinois Institute of Technology Commencement Ceremony on Saturday, May 14, 2011 on the main campus in addition to the Chicago-Kent ONLY ceremony on Sunday, May 15. If you are interested in walking, please indicate so on the graduate survey.

The 2011 Class Gift is Underway!
J.D. and LL.M. Class Gift Project
The 2011 Class Gift Committee announces the class gift project:
The Class of 2011 gift to Chicago-Kent will be used to purchase furnishings for the Law School’s proposed “Rec Room.” The Class envisions a vibrant space in the law school building to accommodate students’ needs for relaxation, camaraderie, and entertainment. The gift will fund the purchase of comfortable seating, game equipment (such as ping pong, foos ball), and televisions.
Get involved. Give back. Support a project that will benefit students in the years to come. Please watch the Record and Commentator for further details and ways to get involved.
