Thursday, April 11, 2013
12:00 PM to 1:00 PM
IIT Chicago-Kent College of Law

Herman is a professor at Brooklyn Law School and the national ACLU president. In Taking Liberties, she examines the human and social costs of the War on Terror.
The IIT Chicago-Kent College of Law/Roy C. Palmer Civil Liberties Prize was established in spring 2007 by alumnus Roy C. Palmer '62 and his wife, Susan M. Palmer, to honor a work of scholarship exploring the tension between civil liberties and national security in contemporary American society.
The $10,000 prize is designed to encourage and reward public debate among scholars on current issues affecting the rights of individuals and the responsibilities of governments throughout the world.
RSVP to the lecture by e-mailing firstname.lastname@example.org.

Alumni Legacy Hooders
The Chicago-Kent tradition of Alumni Legacy Hooding allows a graduate to be hooded by an alumni relative during the ceremony. If you are an immediate relative of a Chicago-Kent alumnus/a and would like him/her to hood you at the ceremony, please email firstname.lastname@example.org for additional details no later than March 15.
Please note that this person must be both an alumnus of Chicago-Kent College of Law and an immediate relative of yours. Unfortunately there are no exceptions to this rule.
All Alumni Legacy Hooders will participate in the graduation processional and recessional and therefore will be sitting on the stage throughout the ceremony. Legacy Hooders do NOT need a graduation ticket. Legacy Hooders will wear caps and gowns and will pick up their regalia in the Faculty Robing Room on graduation day.
Announcing the 2013 Class Gift Project
The Class of 2013 is raising money to purchase two televisions for a student lounge area that will be created on the southeast side of the 2nd floor Spaketeria. The existing space, which includes tables and chairs, will be converted to an informal student lounge with comfortable seating, group gathering space, and partitions to separate the lounge from the remaining area of the Spak.
The Class of 2013 Class Gift will purchase two flat-screen televisions to be mounted on the walls within this space, with a continuous CNN or other news feed for students to enjoy while meeting, studying, or relaxing in the updated space.
The Class of 2013 has set a goal of $4,000 to purchase two televisions for this space. Help them reach their goal by making your gift today! Visit www.alumni.kentlaw.edu/classgift to see illustrations of the new space design.
