Funding Policy for Student Organizations
Official student organizations recognized by the Office of the Dean of Students may request funding for joint student and alumni events. The Chicago-Kent College of Law Alumni Association will serve as an official sponsor if funding is appropriate.
Please read and review the funding policy below before submitting the funding request form. Questions may be directed to Jennifer Cone at (312) 906-5234 or jcone@kentlaw.edu.
Guidelines:
- A funding request form must be submitted to the Office of Alumni Relations at least 2 months prior to the date of the event.
- The event for which funding is being requested must be law-school related and involve one of the following topics:
- Continuing Legal Education
- Lectures or Professional Events
- Networking or Social Events
- Fundraising
- If said event is being planned to raise funds for the student organization, you must also notify the Development Office of your intention. Please contact Tanya Pietrkowski at tpietrkowski@kentlaw.edu.
- Events that do not include alumni or that involve religious holidays are not eligible for funding.
- Each student organization may request up to $350, which may be used in the following ways only:
- Room reservation fee (for an off-site location)
- Catering
- Printing and/or postage for invitations to alumni
- The Chicago-Kent College of Law Alumni Association logo should be placed on any printed materials or on any electronic media to indicate that we are a sponsor of the event. The logo should NOT be copied from the web. The Office of Alumni Relations will gladly email you a high resolution logo, contact alums@kentlaw.edu.
- Once funding is approved, please read the alumni e-mail policy and guidelines to see if these services would apply to your event.
The Chicago-Kent College of Law Alumni Association has the right to refuse funding to any organization. It is your responsibility to adhere to dates listed to successfully receive funding. Any requests received after the two month deadline may be reviewed, but funding is not guaranteed.
