The dinner will feature special guest speaker Jerry Goldman, director of the Oyez Project. The Oyez Project is a multimedia archive for all audio recorded in the Supreme Court since the installation of a recording system in October 1955, and is now headquartered at Chicago-Kent.

Please note: We have been advised that security can take a considerable amount of time—please try to arrive as close to 8:30 a.m. as possible. Applicants will not be allowed to enter the courtroom after the swearing-in has begun.
After you go through security, we will line up in the hall, and admissions staff will escort us to our conference room.
8:30-9:30 a.m.
Coffee and tea will be available for applicants and guests in our conference room.
9:15 a.m.
Group photo session in conference room.
Admissions office staff will line up applicants for entry into the court room. Coats and other effects may be left in the conference room during the swearing-in. Please note: cameras and cell phones are not allowed inside the Supreme Court during the ceremony.
9:30-9:45 a.m.
Applicants and guests will be taken into the courtroom.
Please note: Each applicant may have only one guest inside the courtroom. Additional guests may wait in the conference room; however, there will be no audio or video feed of the swearing-in to the conference room. For those who have requested children or other immediate family members as additional guests, we are doing our best to accommodate you within the confines of Supreme Court rules.
10:00 a.m.
Supreme Court admissions commence promptly.
10:30 a.m.
Admitted members and their guest return to the conference room.
A continental breakfast will be available for applicants and guests. Chief Justice John Roberts, Justice Ruth Bader Ginsberg, Justice Samuel Alito and Justice Sonia Sotomayor may be present, as well as the Clerk of the Supreme Court.
10:45 a.m.
Group photo session on Supreme Court steps.
11:00-11:30 a.m.
Lecture on the Supreme Court begins (optional).
1:00 p.m.
Tour of U.S. Capitol (optional).
We have secured tickets through IL Representative Peter Roskam’s office (Class of 1989). We will meet at the Capitol Visitor Center on the eastern side of the Capitol Building (see map) at 1:00 p.m. for the tour. It will last approximately one hour.

Information on Other Washington D.C. Tours
The White House Visitor Center
Located at the Southeast corner of 25th and E Streets, NW in the Department of Commerce Building, the Center is open seven days a week from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and contains exhibits featuring many aspects of the White House, including its architecture, furnishings, first families, social events, and relations with world leaders. The National Archives
Located at 700 Pennsylvania Ave, NW, the National Archives is home to our nation’s founding documents, the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution, and the Bill of Rights. The Archives are open to the public from 10:15 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Please join the line at the entrance on Constitution Ave, NW.
The Supreme Court
The Supreme Court hosts public tours every hour on the half-hour when the Court is not in session. Tours begin at 9:30 a.m. and conclude at 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. The Court is located at the corner of First and East Capitol Streets, NE.
The Bureau of Engraving and Printing
The Bureau distributes free public tour tickets on a first-come first-serve basis from their ticket booth located at Raoul Wallenberg Place (formerly 15th Street). The ticket booth opens at 8:00 a.m., Monday through Friday, and closes when all tickets have been distributed. Lines form early and the tickets are usually gone by 9:00 a.m.. More detailed information may be obtained by calling (866) 874-2330.
Library of Congress
The Library offers public tours Monday through Saturday at 10:30 a.m., 11:30 a.m., 1:30 p.m., 2:30 p.m., and 3:30 p.m. Please note that the 3:30 p.m. tour is not available on Saturdays. The Library is closed on Sundays and federal holidays. More information can be obtained by calling (202) 707-9779.
