On Thursday, April 27, from 9:30 a.m.-4:00 p.m., the law school
will host a conference addressing the current legal issues relating to
the conservation of the Lake Michigan ecosystem.
Program Highlights include: Where the Law and Lake Michigan Intersect;
The Legal Framework for Great Lakes Issues; What Role can TMDL Play in
Improving the Health of the Lake Michigan Ecosystem; Controlling Air Toxic
Deposition; Basin Water Use and Water Exports; Sensitive Shoreline Areas;
Contaminated Sediments; Exotic Aquatic Organisms; and Shaping the Agenda
to Ensure Lake Michigan's Health. A complete program brochure is

ATTENTION - ALL STUDENTS INTERESTED IN FEDERAL TAXATION
On Thursday and Friday, May 4-5, 2000, the law school will host the 19th annual Federal Tax Institute. The Institute features a comprehensive program presented by a faculty of leading experts for tax advisors and practioners. This seminar is designed for attorneys, accountants, corporate tax executives, business and tax advisors as an update on the most current legislation, cases and rulings affecting the federal tax sector.
Law students (JD only) enrolled at Chicago-Kent are welcome to attend any or all of the program sessions free of charge (note: course materials are not included; however, copies of the materials will be available in the library at a later date). Pre-registration is required! To register, please stop by the Office of Continuing Legal and Professional Education (Suite 673) to fill out a registration form. Students must register on or before Tuesday, May 2, 2000. Also, If you are interested in providing some of your time to volunteer at the Institute, in exchange for complementary course materials and the opportunity to network at the conference luncheon, please let us know when you stop by our office to register or by e-mailing rvicario.
