ATTENTION - ALL STUDENTS INTERESTED IN LABOR AND EMPLOYMENT LAW

The 23rd annual Piper Lecture
Immigration and the Workplace

On Tuesday, April 3, Chicago-Kent will present the 23rd annual Kenneth M. Piper Lecture, Immigration and the Workplace, from 11:30-1:00 p.m, in the auditorium.

The United States is a nation of immigrants and economic opportunities have been one of the major attractions for those immigrating to the U.S.  Consequently, immigration and the workplace are inherently linked.  Issues include the appropriate approach to undocumented workers and the degree to which workers from other countries should be invited into the U.S. in areas of
real or perceived labor shortages.

Professor Howard F. Chang of the University of Pennsylvania Law School will deliver the lecture.  Commentators are Ana Luisa Avendaño, assistant general counsel for the United Food and Commercial Workers Union, Ethan E. Bensinger, partner and managing director of the Chicago office of Fragomen, Del Rey, Bernsen & Loewy, P.C., and Professor Lenni B. Benson of New York Law School.

All faculty, students, and staff are invited to attend.
