Dynamic interactive discussion with leading public sector labor relations lawyers and practitioners is the focus of the annual conference being held on Friday, December 2, 2011. Highlights include: IPLRA Developments; Education Reform in Illinois; Mediation Fundamentals; FOIA and Open Meetings Act Issues; IELRA Developments; Interest Arbitration; EEO Developments; Who Can You Talk to & When Can You Insist on Being Present; Police & Firefighter Forum; Pensions 101: Where We Are, How We Got Here, What to Do; The Democratization of the Media—What it Means for Labor Relations; Jurisdictional Issues and the Public/Private Distinction; Pensions 102: Constitutional Issues in Pension Reform; Professionalism: How to Be Civil with an Uncivil Adversary; Social Networking in the Workplace; Multi-Employer Bargaining—Has Its Time Come?
Law students (JD only) enrolled at Chicago-Kent are welcome to attend any or all of the program sessions free of charge. Course materials and luncheon are not included; however, copies of the materials will be available in the library after the program.
