Giving Ground is an original three act drama with moderated interactive discussion written by playwright Henry Perritt, professor of law and former dean of Chicago-Kent, being performed on June 27th and June 28th.
The action begins when senior partner Sterling Deminici enlists the help of associate Rachel Gardner on a matter involving a shady internet company. Rachel then discusses the matter with a fellow associate in an effort to understand some of the complex financial aspects of the case. Soon enough, someone turns up dead! Intricate networks involving boyfriends, insider information, Russian enforcers, ward alderman, the state’s attorney’s office and police commanders are discovered as even the lawyers come under suspicion of criminal activity before the end.
Join us for a fun and interactive afternoon deciphering ethical issues concerning conflicts of interest, confidentiality, partner responsibility, and misconduct.
Law students (JD only) enrolled at Chicago-Kent are welcome to attend any or all of the program sessions free of charge. Course materials are not included; however, copies of the materials will be available in the library after the program.
