The 33rd Annual Section 1983
Civil Rights Litigation Conference

On Thursday and Friday, April 14-15, 2016 Chicago-Kent will present Professor Sheldon Nahmod’s 33rd Annual Section 1983 conference. The conference features nationally prominent law professors and practitioners who offer instruction on both the fundamentals and the more advanced aspects of §1983 practice and trial skills, and analyze the latest case decisions.

Law students (JD only) enrolled at Chicago-Kent are welcome to attend any or all of the program sessions free of charge. Course materials and reception are not included; however, copies of the materials will be available in the library after the program.

If you are interested in volunteering to work at the conference, in exchange for complimentary course materials and an opportunity to network at the program reception, please let us know when you stop by the office (Suite 675) to register, or by e-mailing cle@kentlaw.iit.edu. Pre-registration is required no later than Monday, April 11, 2016.

The 35th Annual Federal Tax Institute

On Thursday, May 19, 2016 the law school will present the 35th Annual Federal Tax Institute. Nationally recognized tax advisors will provide a comprehensive, practical update on the latest newsworthy tax developments and their impact on tax planning, compliance and controversy techniques for attorneys, accountants, corporate tax directors and staff.

Law students (JD only) enrolled at Chicago-Kent are welcome to attend any or all of the program sessions free of charge. Course materials, lunch and admittance to the reception are not included; however, copies of the materials will be available in the library after the program.

The 35th Annual Conference on Not-For-Profit Organizations

On Thursday, June 9, 2016 the law school will host the 35th Annual Conference on Not-For-Profit Organizations. This one-day seminar is designed for experienced attorneys, accountants, not-for-profit executives and staff, and board members. The conference features a comprehensive program at a mid-to advanced level of discussion on the most current developments in taxation, legislation and regulation affecting not-for-profit organizations in Illinois.

Hot Topics in Contemporary Labor Relations Law Conference

On Friday, June 17,2016 Chicago-Kent College of Law will present this one day conference focusing on the major issues under the National Labor Relations Act and will present a diversity of workshops – some dealing with emerging complex issues under the NLRA and others with the basics of practice before the NLRB. A unique feature of this conference will be the opportunity to discuss particular issues during “table talks” over lunch.
