The 34th Annual Federal Sector Labor Relations
& Labor Law Conference

On Thursday, September 15, 2016, Chicago-Kent College of Law presents the 34th annual gathering of the longest running conference on federal sector labor relations and labor law held outside of Washington D.C. The day is composed of interactive discussion with federal agency leaders and distinguished area practitioners.

Law students (JD only) enrolled at Chicago-Kent are welcome to attend any or all of the program sessions free of charge. Course materials, lunch and admittance to the reception are not included; however, copies of the materials will be available in the library after the program.

If you are interested in volunteering to work at the conference, in exchange for complimentary course materials and an opportunity to network at the conference luncheon and reception please let us know when you stop by the office (Suite 675) to register, or by e-mailing cle@kentlaw.iit.edu. Pre-registration is required no later than Monday, September 12, 2016.

The 8th Annual Conference on Futures & Derivatives

On Thursday, October 20, 2016 Chicago-Kent will present the 8th annual conference on Futures & Derivatives. This conference offers a day of practical and informed discussions on the most recent legal, regulatory and enforcement developments affecting futures and derivatives practice.

Law students (JD only) enrolled at Chicago-Kent are welcome to attend any or all of the program sessions free of charge. Course materials and reception are not included; however, copies of the materials will be available in the library after the program.

Empire of the Fund – Book Release Mini-Conference

On Monday, October 24, 2016, Chicago-Kent will present Empire of the Fund – Book Release Mini-Conference. At this mini-conference Professor William Birdthistle will explain the themes in his new book, Empire of the Fund: The Way We Save Now. Professor Birdthistle exposes and critiques what he calls the richest and riskiest experiment in our nation's financial history. He illustrates the flaws in the hypothesis of that experiment: that millions of ordinary, untrained, and busy citizens can successfully manage trillions of dollars in a financial system governed by powerful financial institutions. He will also explore the obstacles that individual investors face when using mutual funds to save and offers three solutions for how to safeguard their individual financial destinies as well as the nation's fiscal strength.

Fin(Legal)Tech Law Conference

On Friday, November 4, 2016, The Law Lab at Chicago-Kent will present the Fin(Legal)Tech Law Conference. A conference on the financialization of law

The 32nd Annual Illinois Public Sector
Labor Relations Law Conference

Dynamic interactive discussion with leading public sector labor relations lawyers and practitioners is the focus of the annual conference being held on Friday, December 2, 2016. Law students (JD only) enrolled at Chicago-Kent are welcome to attend any or all of the program sessions free of charge. Course materials and luncheon are not included; however, copies of the materials will be available in the library after the program.
