New Alumni Advisor Network

One of the Career Services Office most valuable and utilized career resources is the Alumni Advisor Network. The Alumni Advisor Network lists Chicago-Kent College of Law alumni and friends who are available to advise students on issues such as practice trends, legal markets in specific geographic areas, and other career related topics. Many alumni wonder how they can give back to the Law School. Becoming an Alumni Advisor is an excellent way to do so.

As an Alumni Advisor, all you have to do is agree to make your contact information available to students who may want to ask you career-related questions. In doing this, you will not only help C-K law students and recent graduates in their professional development, you will also stay connected to the Law School, its students, and alumni.

As of April 2, 2007, the Career Services Office has moved the location of the Alumni Advisor Network to the Symplicity system, which also houses our on-line job postings and fall on-campus job program. If you previously signed-up to be an Alumni Advisor, you must sign-up again through this system. Unfortunately, no information from the old Alumni Advisor database will be transferred to the new system in an effort to make sure all contact information is current. We would also request that if you change positions, you keep the Alumni Advisor Network updated.

To become an Alumni Advisor, please sign-up online using the following step-by-step instructions:

If you do not have a Symplicity account

1. Go to Symplicity and click the "Register" tab. 
2. Complete the registration form.  Be sure to select "Professional Network" from the "Services Requested" portion of the form.  You may also select any additional services you would like to receive. Click "Submit."
3. Once your information has been added to our database, you will receive an e-mail confirmation containing your Symplicity login and password as well as details regarding your Alumni Advisor profile.

If you already have a Symplicity account

1. Log-in to Symplicity. Your username is your e-mail address. If you forgot your password, please click on the "Forgot My Password" tab and a new password will be e-mailed to you.
2. Select "Account" from the toolbar at the top of the screen.
3. Select the "Professional Network" tab and complete all relevant fields. If you do not see this tab, please contact the CSO at kentcso@kentlaw.edu or call 312-906-5200 and request that it be added to your account.

Note: Required fields are marked with a red asterisk. You may update your information at any time by logging into Symplicity.
