Opening a Law Firm

Learn what you need to know before starting your own firm. Courses are helpful for recent graduates or current law students, as well as experienced attorneys considering solo practice. Get practical, organized guidelines for management and operational issues that impact the success or failure of a new office. All attendees will receive over 700 pages of materials geared to help you open your own practice.

Program offerings include classes on writing a business plan, office sharing/working from home, referral services and court appointments, personnel considerations, document management, capitalization, accounting and billing, insurance, technology, marketing and networking.

The program runs on the followings dates and times:

Thursday, January 14, 2010, 8:00 a.m. to 5:15 p.m.
Friday, January 15, 2010, 8:00 a.m. to 5:15 p.m.
Saturday, January 16, 2010, 8:15 a.m. to 1:05 p.m.

Cost is $50 for CBA Law Student Members and Fall 2009 New Admittees with Code C37 (this discount not available through on-line registration, registrants must call, fax or mail registration to the CBA); $175 for general CBA members or ABA Young Lawyers Members; $150 for CBA Government Members and $275 for non-members.
