Fall On-Campus Interview (OCI) Program

On behalf of Chicago-Kent law students we invite you to participate in our Fall 2009 Interview Program.

If you have recruited at Chicago-Kent in the past, we look forward to welcoming you back. If you have not previously participated in our on-campus process, we are able to assist you with your recruitment efforts this year. We understand that each employer has different recruiting needs, and we work with employers to ensure that we are providing you with top-notch services. Whether you would like to interview on-campus, collect resumes or request that students submit materials directly to your office, we will make every effort to accommodate your needs. If you are planning a trip to Chicago or will be in town interviewing students at any of the other Chicago-area schools, we are happy to work out an arrangement where you can meet with some of our students. Additionally, if you are unable to make the trip to Chicago, we have the capability to set up videoconference interviews for your convenience.

The dates of our program are August 17 through September 4, 2009. Now Accepting Online Registration at: https://law-kent-csm.symplicity.com/employers/

Interview selection is handled by our Symplicity on-line bidding system. Employers may set their hiring criteria, and only students that meet that hiring criteria may bid for an interview; however, employers are not able to prescreen student resumes. The interview schedules are all assigned by lottery. After the interview schedule has been assigned, employers are then able to view their interview schedule, the resumes of all students on their interview schedule, and the resumes of all students that bid for an interview but did not receive one (waitlist students). If any employer is interested in adding an interview schedule to meet with students on their waitlist, we are happy to assist with this. Furthermore, employers are always welcome to contact students from their waitlist directly to schedule interviews at their offices.

Registration Information for OCI

Registration for fall on-campus interviews may be completed online via our Symplicity website: https://law-kent-csm.symplicity.com/employers/. If you are a new user, you may request a login and password to the system, and you will receive an e-mail instructing you how to log-in. If you already have an account with us, you may simply log-in. After logging in, all users can click on the “OCI” tab, then click on the “Schedule Requests” tab and click on “Request Schedule.”

If you are interested in coming on-campus to interview, select the “Fall 2009 OCI” Session from the dropdown menu. We strongly recommend registering online, as it allows you access to the schedule and resumes of those students that bid for interviews with you. However, if you must rely on paper, please click here for the registration form, complete and return to:

Director and Recruitment Manager
Chicago-Kent College of Law
565 West Adams Street, Room 360
Chicago, IL 60614
Fax: (312) 906-5171

There is a $95.00 registration fee for all law firms and corporations. After registering, you will receive an invoice regarding payment of fees. Government offices and public interest organizations are exempt from the registration fees.

Resume Collect/Resume Direct

If you are unable to come to Chicago-Kent to recruit on-campus this fall, we welcome you to participate as a Resume Collect or Resume Direct employer. If you decide to participate in our Resume Collect, we will collect all materials and forward them to you via email by August 17, 2009. Please register on-line as indicated above; however, once you select the “Fall 2009 OCI” Session, you will be able to select Resume Collect mode instead of Interview mode.

If you wish for students to send their materials directly on a rolling basis, you may register as a Resume Direct employer. If you prefer receiving applications via mail or fax or if you have a large number of application materials, you may prefer the Resume Direct option. In order to register as a Resume Direct employer, please register in Symplicity and once you are registered with an account, you will receive an email with a username and password. Log-in and click on the “Jobs” tab, and click on “Add New.” In the area labeled “Position Type,” make sure to check “OCI Direct Resume.” When you are finished, click “submit”.
