ATTN ALL: THE CSO HOPES YOU HAVE A TERRIFIC SPRING BREAK!
The CSO will be open the week of Spring Break; however, the office will only remain open until 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 7th.  We will close at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, March 8th.  Be sure to make the most of Spring Break by visiting the CSO to meet with a career strategist, research employers, and work on cover letters and resumes.  Remember, the more you accomplish now in terms of your job search, the more time you will have to devote to finals!

PROGRAMS

To pre-register for any of the following programs, please stop by the CSO or e-mail kentcso@kentlaw.edu with the title, date and time of the program you wish to attend.  Walk-ins the day of the program are ALWAYS welcome.

Myers-Briggs Type Indicator Workshops
How do your behavioral preferences (how you take in information, make decisions, etc.) influence your career?  Can you find a job that not only challenges you intellectually, but supports your individual style as well?  The Myer-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) is a constructive tool to increase your self-awareness and therefore improve your marketing strategy when you approach employers about prospective career opportunities.  There are two separate, two part sessions offered.  Feel free to attend either one:

Day Workshops
Evening Workshops
MBTI I:  Tuesday, March14th at 12:00 MBTI I: Wednesday, March 10th at 5:00
AND
AND
MBTI II: Tuesday, March 21st at 12:00 MBTI II: Wednesday, March 29th at 5:00

Space is limited so please register through our office to secure a spot.  You must complete the MBTI instrument before Monday, March 13th in order to attend.  The indicator must be filled out in our office but only takes 20 minutes to complete.  An important note: all results from the indicator are confidential and will be released only to you.  The MBTI is not a "test" - there are no right or wrong answers.  Nor is it a career interest inventory.  However, it can be extremely helpful in your job search - whether you know exactly what you want to do, or are contemplating "why am I in law school?"

Mock Interviews
Don't let your first interview actually be your first interview.  One of the best ways to prepare for upcoming interviews is to participate in a mock interview.  On Wednesday, March 15th and Thursday, March 16th Debbi Gutman will be conducting mock interviews by appointment only in the CSO.  She requests that students drop off a copy of their resume prior to the appointment and indicate what employer-type they would like her to assume in the mock interview.  Students are encouraged to come dressed as they would for an actual interview.  Please note that sessions will be videotaped, after which you will receive a candid critique of your current interviewing skills while watching the video.  Students interested in keeping a copy of their session should bring their own blank videotape to the mock interview.

Study Abroad Opportunities with Georgetown University
Interested in studying abroad this summer?  Earn up to six credits studying in Europe with one of Georgetown's exciting Law Programs (per approval by Chicago-Kent).  The programs offer rigorous academic courses, taught by Georgetown faculty, and incorporate cultural activities.  Professor Charles Abernathy, Director of Georgetown's Summer Law Programs in Florence and Heidelberg, will speak to students on Thursday, March 29th from 2:30 p.m. - 3:30 p.m. in Room 581 to discuss the programs and answer your questions about classes, housing, professors, and travel.  Pizza will be served!  For more information, contact Lisa Ferrante at LAF3@law.georgetown.edu.
