ATTN: Class of '01, '02, & LLMs: Begin Preparing for the Fall Interviewing Season
Although the 2000 fall interviewing season begins in August, it's best to begin preparing early.  You will be amazed at how quickly you need to research and preference employers once you return to school.  If you missed the preliminary Fall Interviewing Program in April, check out the videotape available in the CSO.  Also, be sure to check out the preliminary packet of information, containing information about the program and tips on how to research employers and attorneys, which is available on the Fall Interviewing Web page (contact our office for the password.)  Ths CSO is offering several programs in July and August to assist you in the research process and to help you brush up on your interviewing skills.  See the programming section below for more information about these programs which will help you get a hard start before the new school year begins.

Please pre-register for any of the following CSO programs by signing up in the office, calling (312) 906-5200, or e-mailing with the title, date and time of the program you wish to attend (unless otherwise noted).

Mock Interviews
Don't let your first interview actually be your first interview.  One of the best ways to prepare for upcoming interviews is to participate in a mock interview.  Debbi Gutman will conduct mock interviews, by appointment only, in the CSO on the following days:
Wednesday, July 26th
10:30 a.m. - 7 p.m.
Wednesday, August 16th
10:30 a.m. - 7 p.m.
Wednesday, August 30th
10:30 a.m. - 7 p.m.
Thursday, August 31st
10:30 a.m. - 7 p.m.
Wednesday, September
10:30 a.m. - 7 p.m.

She requests that students drop off a copy of their resume prior to the appointment and indicate the employer-type they want her to assume in the mock interview.  Students are encouraged to come dressed as they would for an actual interview.  Sessions are videotaped, after which students will receive a candid critique of their current interviewing skills while watching the video.  Students interested in keeping a copy of their session are encourgaed to bring their own blank videotape to the mock interview.
