Career Services Office

Jeanne Kraft, Assistant Dean for Career Services
Jeanne has responsibility for all operations of the Career Services Office, including administrative functions, student services, and marketing and employer outreach. While Jeanne’s daily activities are predominately focused on external outreach, she is also available to meet with students and alumni. Jeanne has extensive experience in law career services and recruitment, having previously served as Director of Career Services both here at Chicago-Kent and at Northwestern University Law, and as manager of attorney hiring for several Chicago area law firms. She holds a Master's degree in Educational Psychology & Counseling from the University of Wisconsin.

Michelle Mohr Vodenik, Director & Public Interest / Diversity Advisor
Michelle is the primary counselor regarding public sector careers, office liaison on diversity initiatives, and she also handles general career counseling duties. She oversees all public interest and diversity programming, resources and job fairs. Prior to earning her Juris Doctor degree at Loyola University Chicago School of Law, Michelle served for five years with Amnesty International's Midwest Regional Office as both Acting Deputy Director and Membership Coordinator. In addition, she worked for a year and a half at the Ohio Coalition on Sexual Assault as an Americorp VISTA. While in law school, she worked in a variety of public interest legal settings including the Loyola University Childlaw Clinic, Lambda Legal Defense and Education Fund and the Chicago immigration law firm of Davidson & Schiller where she worked primarily with clients seeking asylum. She is currently a member of the Associate Board for CARPLS Legal Aid and a pro bono attorney with the Legal Assistance Foundation and First Defense Legal Aid. She is also a member of the Chicago Bar Association Legal Aid Committee; the National Association of Law Placement (NALP) Public Service, Diversity, and GLBT committees; and the American Bar Association Government and Public Sector Division. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree at The Ohio State University and is a member of the Illinois Bar. 

Pascale J. Bishop, Director of Career Services and Recruitment Programming
Pascale Bishop serves as Director of Career Services and Recruitment Programming. In this role, Pascale provides direct counseling to both JD and LLM students, and manages Chicago-Kent's Fall On-Campus Interview Program as well as the administrative functions of off-campus job fairs, including the International Student Interview Program (ISIP). Among other things, she also develops and implements career programming, and serves as a CSO liaison to student organizations. Pascale has significant experience in both law career services and the practice of law. Prior to joining Chicago-Kent, Pascale served as Associate Director of Career Services at The John Marshall Law School for several years. Before entering the career services arena, she practiced in the areas of litigation and international trade at both the Chicago and Washington, DC offices of McDermott Will & Emery and at Barnes & Thornburg, Chicago. She also previosuly served as Director of Legal Recruiting for the legal search company, Mestel and Company. Pascale graduated summa cum laude from the University of Missouri, where she earned her Bachelor of Arts degree, and cum laude from the University of Michigan Law School.

Elsa "Yadi" Trujillo, Career Counselor
Yadi handles general career counseling duties for all Chicago-Kent students and assists Michelle Vodenik with diversity programming. She also works with student organizations to organize career programming tailored to certain practice areas and student interests. In addition, Yadi works closely with Pascale Bishop on recruitment initiatives. After earning her Juris Doctor degree from Chicago-Kent College of Law in 2001, Yadi served as a law clerk for three and a half years at the Circuit Court of Cook County and the Illinois Appellate Court, First District. She also practiced for three and a half years in appellate practice and insurance coverage litigation at Lord, Bissell & Brook LLP and Jenner & Block LLP. Yadi also served as a guardian ad litem in probate court on a pro bono basis through Chicago Volunteer Legal Services. Yadi is a member of the National Association of Law Placement (NALP) Diversity and GLBT committees and recently assisted in updating NALP's Diversity Best Practices Guide. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology degree at Rice University and is a member of the Illinois Bar.

Susan DeCostanza, Career Counselor
In her role as career counselor, Susan handles general career counseling duties for all Chicago-Kent students. In addition she works closely with Michelle Vodenik on public interest programming and counseling and serves as a resource for students enrolled in the Public Interest Law Certificate Program. Susan earned her Juris Doctor degree at DePaul University College of Law and previously worked as both the Public Interest Coordinator for DePaul's Law Career Services Office and the Pro Bono & Community Service Initiative Coordinator for DePaul's Center for Public Interest Law. While in law school, she served as a PILI intern with Chicago Volunteer Legal Services (CVLS) and as a Travel Free Project Coordinator with the Chicago Chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations. Susan has also worked in the area of civil rights at a small Chicago law firm and serves as a pro bono attorney through Chicago Volunteer Legal Services. She earned her Bachelor of Arts from Boston College and is a member of the Illinois Bar.

Barbara Clemmer, Administrative Assistant
Barbara orders all resources and handles reciprocity requests from Chicago-Kent students who wish to use the Career Services office of a law school in another part of the country, as well as non-Chicago-Kent students who wish to use our office. She also assists with day-to-day office operations and coordinates student involvement in job fairs throughout the year.
