PUBLIC INTEREST LAW CAREERS

The role of public interest law is to ensure equal protection under the law and, therefore, equal access to the legal system. Without it the legal system serves only those who can afford representation. Public interest lawyers can be found nationwide working in government agencies, public interest law firms, civic organizations, legal aid offices, law reform organizations . . . wherever public issues arise. The most notorious issues of the day are in large part raised, sharpened and resolved in public interest litigation.

Finding a career in public interest can be challenging. We hope the information on these pages helps you in your search, but there is no substitute for meeting with the public interest career counslor. Contact Michelle Mohr Vodenik at mvodenik@kentlaw.edu to have your resume reviewed and to discuss your career aspirations.
