Project Bosnia IPRO Installs Ministry of Justice Database Server
Two undergraduate engineering students and one law student have returned
from one week in Sarajevo, Bosnia, where they succeeded in installing an
Internet-linked LAN and database in the offices of the Bosnian Ministry
of Justice. The network will permit courts, ministry officials, the
bar, and the public to access court information, land records, and corporate
filings regardless of whether the information originates in Sarajevo or
in the cantons. The three students represented the third Project
Bosnia IPRO. The entire IPRO has developed the database and network
plan, and built the server from components bought in Chicago. The
project is supported in part by a grant from the United States Institute
for Peace.
