The Alumni Luncheon

The Law School Association (LSA) revived a long-standing Chicago-Kent tradition by hosting an all-alumnae/i luncheon on April 27.  Chicago-Kent alumnae/i packed the Walnut Room at the Allegro Hotel (formerly The Bismarck) to hear about the history and future of the law school, and to honor five individuals.  The capacity crowd included alumnae/i from graduating classes between 1925 and January 1999.  Dean Perritt spoke about continuing the school's traditions of inclusion and innovation.  Joel Daly, Class of '88 and anchor at WLS-TV, emceed the event and bestowed the awards on behalf of the Association to the following individuals:

Distinguished Service Awards:

The Honorable Warren Wolfson, Director of the Trial Advocacy Program
  Barry Maram, Class of 1971
Professional Achievement Awards:
Joel Weisman, Class of 1969, host of WTTW's "Chicago Week in Review" and news analyst for WGN Channel 9.
The Honorable Jim Ryan, Class of 1971, Illinois Attorney General Young Alumnae/i Award:
Yvonne Owens, Class of 1989

All living graduates of Chicago-Kent are automatically members of the LSA.

Tasha Kincade -- new arrival and maternity leave

I am pleased to announce that Tasha Kincade delivered a baby boy on Wednesday, April 28 at 9:00 am. He weighed 6 lbs. 14 oz. and was 20 1/2 inches long.  Both mother and son are doing fine.  Tasha will be on maternity leave until the end of June.  In her absence, please contact Patricia Wardell for assistance.  We also have hired a temporary person to assist in our office until Tasha returns; her name is Hadiyah Ali.  Please join me in welcoming her to Chicago-Kent.
