Chicago-Kent Mourns Death of Student Sanjoy
Sen
Sanjoy Sen, who started at Chicago-Kent in the fall of
1999, passed away on Thursday evening, February 21, due
to complications from treatment for leukemia. Sanjoy lived
most of his life in the Chicago area, and graduated from
the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign before
starting as a day student. Although I did not know him,
I understand from his friends that he enriched their lives
through a beaming smile, robust laughter, and a great
sensitivity. Even till the end, he retained his optimism
and enthusiasm for life, and he courageously faced his
disease. His passing is a profound loss to those who knew
him as well as to the entire Chicago-Kent community. For
those of you who knew Sanjoy, I am sure that his parents
would appreciate a note. You can reach them at: The Sen
Family, 6271 N. Keating, Chicago, IL 60646.

Unique Collaboration in China
I am delighted to announce that twenty-six practicing
attorneys in Beijing have enrolled in an LL.M program
that will be taught by our faculty in Beijing and
Chicago. We are administering the program in conjunction
with the Beijing Lawyers' Association and with Peking
University. Four of our professors will teach in Beijing,
and then the group will arrive in August to take part
in our regularly scheduled LL.M program. I trust that
the presence of the Beijing attorneys will enhance
our educational mission.
