The Chicago-Kent Disability Fund
in memory of Professor Warren Heindl
The Chicago-Kent community was saddened by the recent death of Professor
Emeritus and Chicago-Kent alumnus Warren
Heindl, Class of 1947, who taught at Chicago-Kent from 1949 until
1994. Professor Heindl’s teaching touched the lives of generations
of Chicago-Kent students. In fact, more than 6,000 students attended Chicago-Kent
during his tenure. Recently, many of Professor Heindl’s students
and friends have contacted Dean Harold Krent to express condolences to
the Chicago-Kent community and to recall their experiences and memories
of Professor Heindl.
Friends and students also have asked how they can recognize Professor
Heindl’s service to Chicago-Kent and honor his memory. An effort
is underway to raise funds sufficient to establish The Chicago-Kent Disability
Fund as an endowed scholarship. Our goal is to add $20,000 to this fund
in memory of Professor Heindl.
The Chicago-Kent Disability Fund was initiated in 1994 by the Class of
1985 as its tenth reunion class gift. The Fund benefits students with
disabilities or special needs who have demonstrated academic excellence.
Over the years, members of the Classes of 1971, 1985 and 1986, as well
as other friends and alumni, have supported the Fund.
If you would like to make a gift in memory of Professor Heindl, please
complete
a gift card and forward it to Elizabeth
Turley, Chicago-Kent College of Law, Office of Development, 565 W.
Adams Street, Suite 310, Chicago IL 60601. If you have questions or would
like to discuss your gift, please contact Ms. Turley at 312-906-5241.
