Seyfarth Shaw LLP has initiated an effort to establish a prize at Chicago-Kent College of Law in memory of Sandra P. Zemm, an equity partner in the firm’s Labor and Employment department in its Chicago office. Sandy died on September 4, 2008 after a long battle with cancer.
The Sandra P. Zemm Labor Law Prize will be awarded annually to a third-year student in the Labor & Employment Law Certificate Program at Chicago-Kent College of Law who has demonstrated the qualities that made Sandy so special: a commitment to pursue a career in labor and employment law, a pioneer spirit and willingness to take the initiative whenever possible, and a gracious and generous attitude towards helping those in need.
It is Seyfarth’s goal to raise $50,000 from Sandy’s family, colleagues, and many friends to fund the Prize.
Gifts may be made online at www.kentlaw.edu/give. Just scroll down the giving options to find the “Sandra P. Zemm Labor Law Prize.” Gifts also can be made by check or credit card using this form (Adobe Reader is required) and forwarded to Chicago-Kent.
